I've then referenced in the box where the defence is meant to be pasted to refer to the defence, sent on 11/10/2021 to ccbcaq@justice.gov.uk

    Oh no!

That then becomes your defence, that SINGLE line.

Ring CCBC immediately and tell them your email was sent first and THAT is your defence, not what was later put in error in the box.

Our instructions tells you never ever to put anything  in the start defence box and to ignore the 122 lines limit.

Are The Court Service  really that stupid?

I’ve had a reply from CCBC:
    Good afternoon

    ‘Thank you for your email.
If you have not enough space, you can submit your response manually via email to ccbcaq@justice.gov.uk’

Seems like they’re not that stupid after all...😁

Good, now keep checking your status on MCOL to see when your defence was submitted and received.

No, you missed the point.  You told us you had already put a one liner in using MCOL.  If you did, you desperately and urgently needed to phone the CCBC and point out that your emailed full defence went first (we hope?)

This is not something to have a chat by email with a generic reply like that.

  • I’ve now received a Notice of Proposed Allocation to the Small Claims Track.

I need to complete a Small Claims Directions Questionnaire by 29 November. To be sent to the court office and other parties.

Could I please ask for guidance as to where any advice for this step may be?

    Many thanks.

Go back to that list you were following when you filed your Defence

Item 6 on that list is...
    6. After filing your Defence, there is more to do.

Items 8, 9 and 10 have the answers you are looking for.

Not sure where else i can put it than in the template defence thread and NEWBIES thread?  It's in both.

Thank you for the clear directions. I've completed it and will send off to all parties tomorrow.

So, a little update. I've had the date of the hearing at my local court. However...the claimant (Civil Enforcement Ltd) has yet to pay the trial fee of £27 or file a properly completed application (which provides all the required information in the manner requested) for help with fees (!). Their claim will be struck out around 4 weeks before the hearing date if this doesn't happen by then.
I'll still be preparing all I need for the hearing, just in case, but have to say I found this detail very interesting.
