What did you submit?0 -
I’m looking on the bright side. If my flat is worthless, there will be no IHT for my children to pay …5

You dismissed the article author (who is neither myself, nor the OP of this thread), because the new standard hadn't been published yet.
I just pointed out that that's precisely the point of a consultation period, to determine issues before it's published.
You then asked me what I had submitted in the consultation period? What point exactly were you trying to make?

I only heard about this particular issue when I saw the article in the paper on Sunday. Why assume everyone knows everything about everything? I'm sure you don't @AdrianC0

Good for you! I hope you have the funds ready to pay for the 'remedial works' that any intrusive survey is bound to suggest, which could be a few £K or many tens of thousands, just like those poor sods having to pay for recladding works.

Yes, and it's worthless until you get it done. You are in massive negative equity. Welcome to the nightmare.
And even more negative equity to pay for the remedial works to bring the building up to whatever new standars are deemed necessary!

We do not know what the final standard will be.
We cannot influence it at this stage.1 -

We cannot influence it at this stage. So? I didn't say it was final I was just raising it as it was the first I'd heard and haven't seen any other mention of it on here.As for influence, of course the outcome can be influenced by opinions and feedback at any point until a final decision is made (and then after that of course as happened with the various revisions to EWS1).0
