Ironically for me (having just compared the two) the bottom line figure is identical and so is the amount of weight it suggests I should lose (11lbs) but the description in the NHS one is a brutal "obese" rather than "over-weight" on the other.
The NHS one also does not explain that if you are muscular you may get a higher BMI suggesting you are overweight or obese when you are bulked up - and that can be for any number of reasons, and does not explain that if your blood sugar, blood pressure and heart rate and recovery are as important as the bald weight figures (which is why I don't like it).Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

Today was a more productive day after a horrendous Monday. I got rid of a long overdue piece of work where the responsible service were grinding my gears and had an appreciative phone call from the head of service thanking me for my efforts and apologising for their delays
I also had to break some bad news to someone at work, I am looking forward to that blowing up come next week!
I am now off until Tuesday as we are moving into the in-laws this weekend, builder still scheduled to start on Monday and communicating with the architect, so fingers crossed! The plan is to empty the attic, spare room, landing and landing cupboards, but I can't do much for the next couple of days as I'll need some extra muscle for the heavy bits + DD1's bedroom is the dumping ground and she's still sleeping there. Muscle is arriving as of Friday, so I think I'll spend Wed-Thu moving all our stuff to in-laws, doing all my month end cleaning (stuff like appliances, won't actually clean rooms and carpets as they will be bogging after the builders finish, anyway), a bit of gardening and moving the aquarium back downstairs.Prolific has been good to me over the last 2 days - £19.02 and countingEdit: Hooray for larger pension payments - Mrs E's work pension has now passed £10,000, meaning it's probably time to investigate whether she can make a partial transfer out to Vanguard.5 -
Sounds like some good news. Just be careful doing the lifting.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

I would be using stashed cardboard, plastic sacks and bubble-wrap with a roll or two of duct tape to cover kitchen appliances, the boiler and washing machine - well, everything that is staying. If you are able to seal any doors shut - do so! Don't forget the bottom. I always forget the pink dust until the next time and it is horrific.
Exciting!Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

Ooh, exciting stuff! Glad you've got somewhere to move out to. We stayed here while the builders were in every day for 4 months and went quite mad. Good luck, it'll be worth it in the end!4

Thanks all. Luckily most of the work is upstairs, so it will probably just be the entire upstairs of the house that is left mockitI'm off today and haven't quite figured out what to do in what order. I'm doing basic housework and waiting for Mrs E to get back so that we can hatch a plan together. Feeling somewhat like things are out of my control after forking out another £9,000 to finish paying the builder's deposit and the architect, so I've done a few small payments to try and soothe future Mr E's low level sense of concern£12.20 OPed£12.20 paid into ISA£12.20 paid into SIPP (£15.25 after tax relief)I suppose it's better than whisky and gambling at the track7

Hey Ed,
do you have another wee yin? How you doing ?
Does Vanguard allow you to pay small amounts into it? I have my vanguard in H&L contradiction in terms i know but vanguard wasnt open to pensions when i started and not sure if its worth transferring now tbh.4 -
Hi elantan - yes - there's another cute wee redhead in the house
We're doing well bar the stress of having a newborn and getting the attic done
How are you?
Vanguard absolutely allow you to pay in small amounts, I've added £1 to my SIPP many times. They can be a bit funny about switching single digit amounts between funds (although this won't affect most people). They do pensions now and I believe drawdown as well. HL are charging you an extra 0.3% a year for the privilege - better off in your pocket. Or put more forcefully - their platform charge is treble Vanguard's!
