Blimey, I've been MIA for a few days and it's like reading from the start, you have been so busy. I am so glad you are realising you are happy. I might be, if Mr Sl's bloods are good enough for discharge today. Like you, the diet is rather different and this morning saw the third stone appear for the first time - a very long time (pre DS, who was 33 on Friday) since I saw that number. 18.6lbs so far (I prefer 1lbs to Kilos, they are quicker to appear!)Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)
OS Grocery Challenge in 2025 I am at £1286.68/£3000 or 42.89% of my annual spend so far

@Suffolk_lass - I am hoping and praying you get him home soonToday was the first day I didn't lose anything in the last 12 days (I maintained). While it is nice to lose every day, I need to accept the fact that my body will take a little while to do what it is told
10lbs lost so far.
My financial win for the day is so niche as to be of interest only to my own family and you cool dudesI have a small preserved pension from my time with a now-defunct government department. I've been chasing for occasional updates over the last 14 years and it appears that all that administrative kerfuffle has now moved online. I managed to log in today and as well as it having been uprated a few times (now worth c. £3,100 a year (+£7,000 to the old NW)), I have been unable to update my expression of wish (it was so old that Mrs E wasn't even Mrs E back then)!
As well as the obvious nerdery of being able to see the value online, my spreadsheet shows me that I've now passed £10,000 a year in DB pensionsWith a little luck, I may pass the value of the state pension by the end of 2026. That excites me as a milestone, as it ignores the value of SIPPs and ISAs, which are also ticking along. I think a lot of what I do is driven by a fear of scarcity, I'd rather end up with too much and be a generous dad/grandfather one day.
Hope I've got away with that really boring chat - slow work day
*Edit: made a few pennies and cents from surveys, getting closer to putting Connect into hibernation for a while. I also closed my account with Outlier AI, as they tried to send me work today for the first time ever, I've been signed up for 14 months! Not worth my time. £14.11 OPed (ISA interest for a week or so)9 -
ooooo - nicely done with finding the old pension! That is a healthy bonus amount to be in receipt of.
I had a similar hunt for an one a few years past (from my former life across the pond) and it amounted to $50 CAD a month - by the time I retire it may be enough to buy a coffee!4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! I forgot to eat yesterday, but got him home. He only wanted soup so I have saved the celebratory steaks for another day. So my loss is another 1.2lbs this morning. I am 1.2lbs away from a stone and a half. I am sure that will take at least a week now the initial 8-week regime is easing.
Soup is excellent, as is an avocado, cut in half and just scoffed with a teaspoon. I shall keep both of these as regular lunch choices and go mediterranean for the summer. Personally, my long-term goal is 4 stone, maybe even 5. My cholesterol blood test shows normal LDL and HDL but abnormal lipids, so increase in physical activity (not hard now my knee is better, but probably need it to be aerobic, from memory), and lowering of dairy, plus more oily fish (omega 3 fatty acids) rather than tablets.Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)
