In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!4 -
Oh no poor little girl; I remember having it age 7; it was so sore. Hope it passes quickly CM5

Thanks allThe wee one is feeling a lot better today (woke up happy and didn't spend the entire morning yelling). She is back at the childminder, as apparently they're at their most infectious before the spots appear.5

She is doing well then, as 7-10 days seems to be the received wisdom on duration. Fingers crossed for herSave £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

Thanks @Suffolk_lass - it's not a complete recovery yet - she's 4 days in to symptoms that we know of.

I just know I would have been thinking "is it meningitis?" as soon as there was fever and rash. While it is unpleasant, it is so much milder than some options. I looked at the NHS treatment advice and there is no mention of calamine lotion. We used to be slavered in it as kids; measles, german measles, chicken pox, bites, sunburn - I don't know if they even sell it these days - ooh, they do. Marvellous stuff leaving a dry powdery coating until the next bath timeSave £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

@Suffolk_lass - We definitely had our "is it meningitis" scares with DD1 but feel more alert and confident as second time parents. Alert to meningitis, otherwise basically asleepAs my regular coffee buddy, you may be interested to note that a helpful person on HUKD suggested a new coffee roaster to me? Not cheap cheap (c. £17-18 a kilo delivered) but proper hipster coffee beans that would retail for £32-35 a kilo in my neck of the woods). I've ordered a few varieties, will feed back if they are decent.I have had a wee flurry of surveys, £3.85 from Prolific and £3 from Y Live (now at £45, can nearly cash out). Only other money news was getting some half price bedding for DD1 from George (avec 2 types of cashback but I forgot to buy a voucher). Hey ho, the perfect is the enemy of the good and all that and 1.6% of a tenner isn't much. ZipZero declined my request for more cashback as they rightly spotted that I'd cheekily made a purchase *before* activating the offer. File that one under perfect vs. good as well I guess and lesson learned for next time.I have canned YG for the third? timeDoing 1-2 hours of overtime this evening and am seasoning a new cast iron frying pan in the background (the fun we have)5
