edinburgher said:@killerpeaty - I think you've misconstrued what I have written - the £1,000 referred to money paid into my SIPP. It will take me a good while to pass £1,000 on surveys, but maybe over the course of a year! Wouldn't be the end of the world for me, as it could take me closer to HR tax (and increased pension tax relief).
Sounds like you need a break from your work, do you have any holiday soon? Having work being rough AND the work on the house and Very Little arriving all at the same time must be very stressful. But I hope you will feel better soon and I hope work becomes less rubbish.
A C bedroom sounds interesting. I imagine I would section it, storage there, bed here, tiny kingdom of minions by the window...5 -
I was at a Miller and Carter a few weeks ago as yes they still the weird but tasty lettuce wedges
it was really good food, we were all
impressed
I have 12 discount vouchers 20% whole bill including drinks as I own some Mitchell and butler shares (which are going down )DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Sounds to me like you need an escape plan for your job. That is not to say you implement it but actually having put mental effort into having an alternative will make you feel better and less reactive to the snips and snipes of a manager clearly not at their best.

I agree with the job. Have you had a look around to see what else there is? Would you need a new qualification? Is there provision to move to a different team in current organisation? Sometimes feeling like you have a choice helps, even if your choice is to stay in current job because of the money or whatever.7

Hi Ed, sorry to hear work is horrid currently. MrCM grew up in a house with a C-shaped loft conversion, it was the most coveted bedroom and was rotated between him and his brothers as they all wanted it.The boring square and rectangular bedrooms weren’t as fun apparently.5

Up at 5 today, must be exercise class nerves!
£7.47 withdrawn from Prolific yesterday, although my personal spends account is down as I spent £11.99 on magic no hangover pills. In my defence, we have a family beer festival trip tomorrow and I have dad stuff to be getting on with
For anyone wondering, the magic no hangover pills do work by and large, although the obvious trick is not drinking to thr point of expecting a hangover more than a few times a year!6 -
A wee pension offer that I've been working on for a long time and was basically a freebie has come to fruitionI was referred for an app called Sno0p, was referred for a pension with a provider called Penf0ld, then referred Mrs E to them and am now transferring that pension out via Sno0p to PensionB.£20 has become £5 cash, £105 in a pension and a £75 big river voucher! Took a few months, but a nice little 9-bagger8
