Amazon and delivery times

I have been waiting for an Amazon delivery since an estimate of 10am - 12am today
It became clear at 12 that they would not make it by 12
The estimate changed to 12-2pm
Still nothing - we want to go out
So I had an on-line chat and discovered that the delivery van had "disappeared"
I thought that Amazon used vehicle tracking ?
Still waiting .......

    Do you live near Bermuda?
  • On a Sunday? We get nothing on Sundays. Royal Mail Saturdays. Courier ( just 2 local companies) Monday to Friday.
Sorry you didn’t get your parcel, but I’m amazed it was ever possible.

Amazon Logistics deliver on Sunday.  Perhaps they don't deliver to you but for most of us, Amazon deliveries on Sunday are completely normal.

Ditto. I live right in the middle of rural Wales and we get deliveries seven days a week. B)
However I have noticed in recent months that every single Amazon Logistics delivery (whether on a Sunday or any other day of the week) gets delayed by several hours and in a couple of cases delayed until the next day.

  • My estimates often change on a Sunday. I always stay in if I have ordered something for Sunday as you can’t rely on the tracking. Did it eventually arrive?

    It eventually arrived at 5pm
But to be told that Amazon vans do not have GPS tracking on them - was a shock
How else do they know the location of your order ? Witchcraft ?

    Some do, some don’t.
If they don’t have live tracking via GPS they’ll be able to use the orders scheduled for delivery before yours to work out the van’s location - all Amazon delivery PDAs are Internet connected anyway.

Right - so they know exactly where orders are from the point that they leave the depot to my front door
