The OP received something different to what he ordered, and now has to expend time and effort (and money in phone calls) to sort out the company's mistake. If he were allowed by law to keep the incorrect item, companies would be far more careful over getting it right the first time.0 -

Still not classed as unsolicited goods and TBH is it really worth going through the hassle of being sued over it and undoubtedly losing? I looked into it when I got an extra printer after ordering. There's no legal basis for keeping it at all. At best you have to make reasonable attempts to inform the sender and the only way you can keep it is if they don't arrange postage or collection within something like six months."She is quite the oddball. Then it would only be fair is companies could do the same, for example is people purchase goods and accidently leave them on the counter, forget their change and so on.0 -
And here was I thinking that this site was all about sticking up for the consumer... all you guys seem to be very much in favour of the corporations!0

thanks folks, I didnt expect this to bo so contentious! I took it to the shop, unopened and got it swapped - however the blooming thing keeps crashing sporadically so I think I am going to have to see if they will swap it again!!!
