Can someone help I was pulled over for no insurance and argued blind I had they took my car as I couldn't prove it on the spot I got in touch with insurance which had put a wrong didget on my insurance however I got a producer too take insurance in too get my car back however the producer has also put wrong registration number number in and it's exactly the same as the insurance company!! So it would have been covered on that registration where do I stand on getting car back I now have temporary insurance till it's all corrected and police still have car

They have the car, so they know what the correct registration is.
You can prove you were insured, so you can reclaim the car with the correct paperwork.
This should be a lesson to always check the paperwork is correct before you actually need it...1 -
Be sure to claim your costs back from the insurance co if they are responsible for the error2

Why have you taken out temporary insurance if you already had a policy and does it allow you to bail your car out?icebaby145 said:Can someone help I was pulled over for no insurance and argued blind I had they took my car as I couldn't prove it on the spot I got in touch with insurance which had put a wrong didget on my insurance however I got a producer too take insurance in too get my car back however the producer has also put wrong registration number number in and it's exactly the same as the insurance company!! So are you being done for no insurance? If not you already had a policy, your story is full of holes.icebaby145 said:

The 'advice' is that you get the correct documentation together from your insurance company, take it to the police station and reclaim your car. If there's a genuine error on the producer then they'll be able to easily resolve this when you attendicebaby145 said:

Taking out temp insurance isn't likely to help your cause and just adds more suspicion - many (if not most) temp policies will state they can't be used to release a car

I don't understand why you needed "temporary insurance" (which won't allow you to collect the car from impound, anyway)
All you needed to do was to call your insurer and say "Excuse me, but I think you might have got the reg wrong on the recent renewal. Can you send me a correct certificate, please?"
I presume last year's policy had the right reg?
How wrong is the reg on the policy, compared to the correct one?0 -
1 letter wrong and yes last year's was right and they have just rectified the didget and have offered me the months insurance back but that's still not solving the issue I'll have too pay for my car too get releasedAdrianC said:I don't understand why you needed "temporary insurance" (which won't allow you to collect the car from impound, anyway)
