  • We did tell Del Grosso verbally numerous times that we had permission to park there from the commercial units but of course he ignored this. Also sent Autosec a letter but this was ignored.

We also asked the Freeholder company to help us to tell the parking company to stop giving us tickets because we had permission. This is when the Freeholder company said he thinks we shouldn't have to pay because we had verbal permission but then they also lied to us and said that they did not know who owned the land at the back and and who was in charge of contracting the PPC so they couldn't help us. But actually it was the Freeholder company responsible for this all along.

Lying to our face and sneakily trying to extort us working class people behind our backs....despicable! A huge management company who probably rake in millions from ground rent per year but then trying their luck to milk 12k from us.

Yes, I "racked" up multiple tickets because from the beginning I believed they were frivolous and are no more than just mental duress in getting us to pay or stop parking there which we are under no legal obligation to do so. And I wasn't going to be intimidated by this paper terrorism....or bent over for lack of a better term.

I am someone who always pays and parks appropriately when it comes it council parking or PPC parking but in this case I believe that what they're doing is just not right....morally and legally.

From what I have read, it is very unlikely that Mr DG would wish to face a judge.  Why not all his bluff.

Would he even have to attend if he has solicitors to represent him?

We are with you (well most regulars are).  You are preaching to the converted  and we will assist you but for that amount of money I'd be tempted to engage a solicitor.  How about sounding out the firm that represented Ms Jopson in her appeal case v Homeguard, even if they are out if your area?  Google it.

Perhaps it was wisest to have stopped parking there until you clarified in writing immediately after the First Parking charge notice that your household received back in 2018. To clarify in writing which cars and or persons were permitted to use the parking area. Then only to have resumed parking when this was clarified as permissible in writing, and preferably with the issue of some kind of permit.

I would say your case outcome will be greatly  influenced by that mistake.

My take - there is £7303.63 in your name only, as the rest are in your mum. dad and step-dad's name.

If you are to deal with them here, then I suggest only the ones in your name. as it will confuse the issue.

and if you want help with the offers will another thread be the way forward? All the same defence etc?

@hullensien - unfortunately, I would prefer to keep that information private if you don't mind

@Coupon-mad - I just realised that each of these charges have £70 administration fees added...Should this be my defense to have the case struck out instead of going down the route of getting written permission from the commercial units? Because I have a small feeling the units are an unhelpful bunch and might not be willing to "officially get involved"...[continued]

edit: [continued]...which means i would be unable to prove that we had a verbal agreement.
