On reading the Newbies site it states the below in regards to first appeal on receiving PCN from a parking company.
As per my above discussion ALLIANCE PARKING does not let you appeal using their e mail address, (clever) only option is by checking tick box on their appeal website thereby admitting being the driver then you can go the appeal section...obviously no one wants to do that so assume you are only left with a postal reply which seems rediculous.
The below states not to send the appeal by recorded delivery, but I would assume by their devious nature they would simply lose your paper appeal or say it was `never delivered` to them without proof of sending/postage?
Can anyone clarify why not to send their appeal by recorded delivery please?
What a crafty way to run their online appeal service...
DON'T POST IT BY ROYAL MAIL UNLESS YOU HAVE NO OTHER OPTION ON THE PCN.
CERTAINLY NOT BY RECORDED DELIVERY - FORGET THAT! - ALWAYS USE THE ONLINE APPEAL PAGE - OR EMAIL IF OFFERED AS AN OPTION ON THE NOTICE - BECAUSE THE APPEAL CANNOT GET LOST AND YOU CAN KEEP PROOF/ A SCREENSHOT. NO NEED TO USE YOUR REAL SIGNATURE IF YOU HAVE NO OTHER APPEAL OPTION BUT POSTAL...BUT OF COURSE YOU PUT YOUR NAME AND ADDRESS!

Certainly.BarryBados said:Can anyone clarify why not to send their appeal by recorded delivery please?Never ever send anything to a parking company or their solicitors using any service that requires a signature. All that does is give the intended recipient the opportunity to not sign and hence refuse delivery. All you have then is proof of non-delivery. Not quite what you want.If you want to use Royal Mail, then send it by standard first class post obtaining a free Certificate of Posting from the Post Office counter. The item is deemed delivered two working days later.Keep that Certificate of Posting as proof.4 -

Royal mail are not getting signatures anyway due to Covid.

So a certificate of posting at the PO counter is what you want and it’s free proof. Staple the little receipt to a second printed copy of your appeal in case you need to complain if they ignore you.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Plus if it's a PO Box nobody from the firm is there to sign anyway , even before covid19
Since covid19 , no recipient signs anything , the posties do it , sometimes in front of you , but often not
Proof of posting to the correct postcode and number is all you need , it is deemed to be delivered 2 days later2 -
Yes, I see what you are saying re Covid..thanks Redx..1

Did they fob you off and tell you that keepers can't appeal, as we've seen every time from Alliance?
Hope you are sitting tight. There are other posters in the same boat.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
