Got flashed 3 weeks ago
Hey guys, got flashed doing 40 MPH in a 30MPH zone 3 weeks ago tomorrow. This particular road changes from a 30 MPH zone into a 40 MPH zone and for some reason, I thought this particular area was 40, hence the flash at that speed. Im annoyed with myself, but what can you do. Anyway, I have been waiting anxiously anticipating a fine and 3 points through the post, but tomorrow it will be 3 weeks since I got flashed and still nothing. I’m the registered keeper and my address hasn’t changed. When can I start relaxing a bit ? Is the likelihood of the notice still going to come through ?

If you're 100% confident that you're the RK, and that the address on the V5C is correct, then you're almost certainly OK.0

Received my tax 6 monthly letter the other day so no doubt. I was reading up on the 2 week deadline so was hoping I got away with it, but didn’t want to get my hopes up.0

Would you be able to do a sac?, or was the speed too high, ( assuming you do get a letter)0

Yeh I would do a SAC if needed, but kind of hoping I don’t get the letter obviously with it being 3 weeks now, hopefully I have swerved it. We will see.1

I did one in 2017 I had to buy tea and biscuits from the cafe in the place where the course was1

Bear in mind that at this stage the police do not know you were the driver so if they have got any tea and bikkies they don't know who to give them to (they probably put up a picture of.them half way through the online course).
You could contact the ticket office for the area you believe you were caught to see if you have been sent a NIP and request for driver's details. If it has and has been lost it will save you a lot of aggro later on. If it hasn't it's too late to send one so you will not be poking a hornets' nest.0 -

If I haven’t been sent it, why should I prompt them for it ? But, I do understand what you mean though by it possibly being lost in the post.0
