The_Fat_Controller said:Bluestacks works fine on W 10, no need to change your OS, it may run better if your PC supports virtualisation.

Bluestacks and the other emulators will allow you to run just about any APP you have on your phone.
Virtualisation is recommended for videos and gaming, but I have viewed live streams without it.
The only issue can be the screen format as phones are portrait and PCs are landscape.
Stop stressing and give it a go !

This might be out of date, but it was the case that banking apps wouldn't work with Bluestacks due to it not being Google certified and that it runs Android as rooted?
I don't know if that's still a fact or not? Can someone confirm either way?

Can someone confirm either way?
I have loaded BlueStacks on my PC - it works beautifully with the run-of-the-mill apps
Sadly, no (you're right) none of the banking apps will load
Never mind - looks like I've earned myself a Tablet
I will shift the most-used banking & social media etc onto a tablet - keep my pics & documents on my laptop, and only essentials on my phone2 -
You could instead connect your phone to a monitor, keyboard and mouse using a USB hub with HDMI support. More here. Bluetooth and Miracast might let you do it without the hub.
Tablets from assorted vendors will normally support the same thing.1 -
what about the windows appstore, lots on there.1

Thanks guys, this is all getting techie for me. USB hubs etc.. I've tried the Bluestacks (which had been suggested to me before I logged this) with the help of you guys, sadly, this hasn't provided what I'd like.
All I needed was something to shift this growing number of (secure) apps off my phone & onto my laptop which I now realise isn't possible. I need a new device on which to work them.
I'm off to get an android tablet later today.
Thanks again for the advice1 -
There's almost always nothing on an Android phone that can't be emulated/replicated to a degree on the Windows platform. The only exception may be actual phone calls but your messaging apps (WhatsApp, Teams, etc) have Windows equivalents.

Windows 11 is to have the ability to run android apps but it is highly unlikely for this to be available from day 1 (sometime in October) and no dates have yet been hinted as yet.
