Cheap Mobile Finder - contracts for existing customers?
Hello all
I'm considering a deal I've found via MSE's Cheap Mobile Finder. It says "All deals are for new customers. Existing customer? Call your provider to see if it'll offer you it"
However, I have a current monthly rolling contract with Three, but want to use the deal I've found to get a 24 month contract. The provider asks me to give my mobile number as an existing customer, stating "Please note you are applying for a new connection. Giving us your existing number only allows us to identify you easily with the network."
Will this be okay to do? I'm assuming my monthly will stop once it expires, and I'll be on the new contract?
Thanks in advance

When it says ""Please note you are applying for a new connection" it means that you are applying for a new contract with a new phone number, your existing contract and existing number will continue.
The new deal you are being offered is unlikely to be as good as that offered to a "new" customer. You may be able to haggle on this deal.
Moving your phone number between accounts at the same operator is a pain.1 -
Contracts do not expire the moment they reach the end of the minimum term, why do people think this would be a good idea?
Unless you give notice, or use a PAC or STAC, then the contract just rolls on. Do not just cancel the direct debit, do not collect a default.0 -

Thanks Gavin. And yes, I know they don't chistery and I wasn't going to just cancel my direct debit.I've contacted Three to confirm:"If you sign up for this contract, it will be a new and additional contract with a new number. If you wish to keep your current number with the new contract, we will have to cancel your old contract and move the number on pay as you go with 30 days' notice. Once the number is moved to PAYG after 30 days, you can contact us and we'll move the old number on the new contract SIM card."So I have cancelled my rolling contract, and will have my old number transferred in 30 days time. Or I may decide to keep the new number! We shall see. But thought helpful to post this confirmation for anyone else with the same question.
