Hello, I am currently with Avro Energy and my yearly predicted spend for Gas is 34634kwh and Electric is 4553.1, we live in a 3 bed semi with 3 adults, one of whom is currently working from home. We pay £137 a month by DD. Just wondered if our Gas is high, we don’t have a Gas cooker just heating. I have been looking to switch and I cannot find anything cheaper.
Many thanks
Gemma

For a gas heated property both your gas and electric usage is high, gas especially so.1

Gas seems high - 2 of us in 4 bed semi use about 12k gas and 4K electricity (elec high cos we are both wfh)1

Electric is a little over average but not excessively so but the Gas is very high.GemmaBwasC said:Hello, I am currently with Avro Energy and my yearly predicted spend for Gas is 34634kwh and Electric is 4553.1, we live in a 3 bed semi with 3 adults, one of whom is currently working from home. Could you give us your meter readings please for the last few months - hopefully you've been giving them to Avro. Include the letters A, C and E - hopefully there are no E's otherwise Avro will be guessing.
While reading the meter itself (not the IHD) note the serial number and look for m3 or cu ft. Look at your bills - is this info the same.
Give that meter read to Avro.
It's a challenging time re switching.Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill1 -
Hi Robin
I have checked the meter and it’s in Cubic ft, my bill is showing E’s and C’s as per the following
E 13/05 50634.5
C 10/06 50938
E 13/06 50970.4E 10/06 50970.4
C 10/07 51310
E 13/07 51341.7
I give a meter reading to Avro every month
Many thanks for all your replies and advice is really is appreciated.0 -

@GemmaBwasC Have you got anything from 12 months ago.
This sounds like a fairly new meter - is there a sticker on it with a date ? That meter would have read 00000 when installed.
You are right to ignore the numbers in red.
A bit confused with your earlier post where you had the electric readings but it's cu ft !Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0 -
This is a photo of our meter, the only date I can see is 1992. We’ve been here 5 years and it’s never been changed.
We have gas and electricity on our bills, the first readings above we’re definitely the electricity readings.Last year our bills were
E 13/08 9771.7
C 13/09 9809
E 13/10 9862.5
C 15/10 98690 -
This is a copy of our bill showing the gas and electric readings0

Sorry it didn’t attach so I will try again
