Eligibility if self employed and sometimes paid by PAYE

Hello, this is a tad confusing (for me at least) so I'm wondering if anyone has similar experiences or advice as to what if anything I can claim for coronavirus support. Everything I've researched basically says 'nothing' so this is my last shot at it as I've lost £15k-£20k in cancelled work and I'm getting desperate.
I took redundancy in Sept 2019.
I didn't register as self employed for the rest of the 19/20 tax year and did very little paid work between then and Apr 2020 (which was paid PAYE)
I registered as self employed for tax year 20/21.
The majority of my earnings since then have been PAYE because the employer I freelance to insists on taking tax at source.
My self employed earnings are pretty negligible in that time.
I have had to do a self assessment tax return since 2007 because I rent out a property. The profit on this is minimal.
I have earned under the £50k threshold.
I'm not a limited company.
Is there anything in the above that suggests I can claim anything?
I looked at furlough through the employer that pays me PAYE but because I'm self employed, it's not been obliged to.
Many thanks

If SE earnings are less than 50% then that is out the window.
If you are PAYE you are not self employed in that role. Bit late for furlough now anyway.0 -
Do you have a code number or have all earnings been taxed at basic rate?
Any tax overpaid for 20/21will be repaid when you submit your 20/21 self assessment tax return so submit it as soon as possible.1 -
Thanks to those of you who replied kindly. I realise it's quite late but I've tried every avenue there is over the last 18 months so this was just a last attempt in case anybody had come across anything similar. I'm one of the many millions who have lost £1000s in cancelled work with no support from the government.0 -
As you had no self employed earnings for 2019/20 or earlier, SEISS cannot apply, even ignoring the other issues (like the 50% test).
No employer was obliged to furlough employees, but if they did not, they still had to abide by the terms of the contract of employment, where for example you were contracted for 40 hours a week. In your case, I suspect it was a zero hours contract, so there were no contracted hours they were required to pay you for.
I am afraid universal credit (assuming no tax credit claim) is the only possibility, unless you could qualify for job seekers allowance. It might be worth posting on the benefits board.0 -

You can't be self employed in a role that pays you through PAYE.
There are specific schemes for certain industries, eg the CIS scheme for construction where an element of pay is collected as tax for HMRC but that is not the same as PAYE.
Possibly you need to consider IR35 as well depending on circumstances.0
