selling car - dont know buyers address

to close this thread - buyer provided his address and all good, was really just me being (overly) cautious.

For info - I used my mobile phone at the handover to log on to the 'tell us you have sold your vehicle' bit of the dvla web site to do the transfer.  Entered reg,  number off the V5, entered the buyers name and address, entered my email for confirmation, done!

A super easy option but definitely highlights the existing warnings that you should not show the V5 number to anyone before a sale as someone could be mischievous and transfer registered keepers all over the place even if they dont buy the car.  I know a V5 isnt 'proof of ownership' and it may be traceable in the end but imagine the hassle to get it sorted and prove you are still the reg keeper and hadnt actually transferred/sold it.

I'm fairly sure there was a thread posted on here by someone this happened to.
