New car leaking oil

Mum bought a used car from a respected dealership 2 weeks ago, Citroen 16,000 miles. Today I noticed a load of oil on the garage floor and took these pictures of the underside of the engine.

This isnt…right? Is it?

It's not right. Could be as simple as they serviced it and didn't properly do the oil drain up.
Dump it on their forecourt, keys on their desk, 28 days to fix it or refund. Or just go straight for rejection, you never know.0 -
Or perhaps give them the opportunity to fix it first before dumping it on their forecourt…0

Tell them the issue as soon as possible and ask them to fix it.0

"This isnt…right? Is it?"No, most certainly not.I'd wager someone has carried out an inconsiderate engine oil and filter change and any oil on that undertray has not been cleaned off.I would certainly have that tray removed though. Could be, as already suggested, the drain plug (or filter depending on location) is leaking. Either not tightened or refitted using the old sealing washer.

Theres little point in guesssing, the vehicle needs inspected to determine the cause.

That's why you dump it on their forecourt, let it leak oil over their property while they think about fixing it. If they have it then it's harder for them to fob you off and waste time.0 -
I put some cardboard under it again and it's leaked on that too. Haven't driven it since seeing the oil.
Should I be calling them or emailing? People always say have stuff in writing.
I hope it hasn't been run with low oil by the previous owner.0 -
@WatercoolNorth it is completely pointless posting anything else here.
Take it back to the dealership and get them to sort it.1 -
You noticed this over the weekend.
It's now Wednesday lunchtime... and your mother hasn't spoken to the supplier yet at all...?0 -
You need yo act promptly, especially if you wish to keep open the option of short term right to reject.WatercoolNorth said:I put some cardboard under it again and it's leaked on that too. Haven't driven it since seeing the oil.
