Is there a local Worcester approved dealer?

    https://www.worcester-bosch.co.uk/products/boilers/find-an-installer

We had Worcester boiler fitted a few years ago and found the authorised dealer very efficient when we had problems.

It was not fitted by them but when i contacted Worcester to check the guarantee ( two months left on it) they passed me onto the local authorised dealer.
I was just about to post that link!

We're in Shropshire (so not comparable to Scotland!).

We're having old Worcester boiler replaced with new Worcester 35Kw 8000 installed week after next. Total cost, including Hive control, just under £3200
Dont suppose you are north Shropshire? I'm looking for recommendations
An answer isn't spam just because you don't like it......
  • I had the same boiler fitted which included removing the old water tank and the need for larger diameter piping from the connection. It cost £3,300 all in. This quote sounds very high.

I’ve no idea on what costs you should be looking at but, if they cover Scotland, I’d highly recommend Boxt.

I had a boiler replaced last winter and got a few quote from local companies, Boxt was half the price and included the 10 year Worcester Bosch warranty. They also had very quick install times compared to my local quotes who were booking months ahead.

Edit: You can get a tailored quote online within minutes.

I had the same boiler fitted a few weeks ago for a large 4 bed detached house.

We had the entire heating system replaced including new water tank, old loft system disconnected, wider diameter pipe fitted and upstairs and downstairs thermostats.

It was £4900 which was the middle of the 3 estimates we got. We are in Oxfordshire. We priced it up ourselves at £5k to £5.5k so weren't far off.

The plumber was approved by Worcester Bosch so we got a 10 year guarantee

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

The quote sounds way too high possibly as they don't really want the job.
I'm wondering whether some installers are being put off quoting by the description of the work. As far as I know (and sorry it might be different in Scotland) the boiler needs to be both installed and commissioned by a Gas Safe registered engineer so that a certificate can be issued to you.
It sounds like you want the installer to hang the boiler and pipe the gas, hot and cold and run the 1m copper for the CH? to the boiler but not connect and fill the system. He needs to fit the flue too but I guess the hole will be pre-cored.
Someone else will connect and fill the system then the gas installer has to come back and complete the commissioning as the boiler cannot be run without the heating system connected, hence the commissioning certificate values cannot be completed.
The radiators and pipe-work are already installed but it sounds like they haven't been tested yet? If an installer is going to connect and fill the system they need to allow for sorting out any leaks that might crop up there and then otherwise they have to go away and come back when they are sorted.

I've done work in the past where a homeowner has done some of the preparation and got me in to do the plumbing bit and on too many occasions I turned up and the preparation either hadn't been done or hadn't been done properly and I ended up correcting their workmanship costing me time and money. In the end I stopped doing that type of work.

I'm not saying any of the above applies in your case just trying to give you some of the things that might be going on in an installers head and make them reluctant to get involved.

Someone mentioned local facebook groups and they are a good source of recommendations as long as they are recommendations rather than someone or their mates promoting themselves.

    Good luck

Sorry I can't think of anything profound, clever or witty to write here.

Seems too much. Ask on your local Facebook page for recommendations and check that they are registered Worcester Bosh fitters

+1 Worcester, get a an approved installer as they can give you longer warranties.
