If you asked for a settlement amount for the loan - you would know whether the interest was 'baked in' or whether by changing you could lower your rate. I did that with a car I bought - put it on a loan then money transferred onto a CC - but we have an excellent credit score... but it meant that we paid much less interest. You don't have to settle the loan just because you ask for a statement.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

@Catty89 - with regards to the blind we use Blinds Direct and they are quite reasonable. We have vertical blinds at our patio doors and also the other window at the back of the property and have now ordered 3 blinds for the front windows. Those 3 blinds have come in at £185 so you can't definitely get blinds cheaper than nearly £500!
Good luck in finding something cheaper.1 -

Don’t feel bad @Catty89 I did a similar thing over 10 years ago and ended up buying vertical blinds from argos at a fraction of the price. Luckily I have a very diy handy DF who put them up for me. If you can put a roller blind up I’m sure you could fit them yourself.0% credit card £1360 & 0% Car Loan £7500 ~ paid in full JAN 2020 = NOW DEBT FREE 🤗

@Catty89 - I think the roller blinds were much cheaper than the vertical blinds I've ordered (they're due here next week and I can't wait). I've ordered blackout blinds which are also more expensive as one of the rooms is our bedroom. We wanted all the blinds across the front of the property to match so had to get blackout for all the windows as they didn't do the same colour in non blackout ones! Probably would have been cheaper if they did!

I worked 11-6pm sat and sun in my 2nd job this weekend. It's just an as and when job so nice to get longer days so the hours add up quicker.
I always feel though no matter how many extra hours we do and no matter how we try and save money or bargain hunt were just always scraping buy. Realistically we just can't work anymore hours and we both can't get better paying jobs so it just is what it is right now but do hope it's not going to be a hard slog forever.1 -
Have you done the wallet workouts and demotivators on here? They always made me feel I had had a pay rise... Once your debt is gone it will make a big differenceAchieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Thanks il have a look! Which bit is best to look in to find them?
Yeh definately, when our big loan is paid I will have 415pm more and that will feel a massive difference!
I checked and iv £17330 left to pay on that loan, so 70% left to pay. It just feels so much left!
The mortgage it says we have 89% left to pay but feel that is bearable as it's something we just expect we will be paying for most of our life.2 -
Yes but you have paid of an amazing 30% off your loan well done you are doing great x2
