Bosch Washing Machine: what programme do you use?

Following on from my musty smell thread that wasn't to do with the machine it was a clothes problem , I have now been thinking have I been using the wrong programme, I normally use the Mixed Load 40c, Using the 40c Intensive Wash got rid of my problem of a musty smell.

Going by the manual the Mixed Load is the most better at economical Consumption it takes about a hour where the Intensive takes 3hours and uses more.

I never use the Speed Perfect.

I have read that longer washes on most washing machines are more economical but it doesn't seem to be the case for the Bosch.

I nearly always use Speed Perfect on my Bosch.  I tend to use the 30 degree Easy Care for most clothes and bedding, the 30 degree Delicates/Silk for delicate things, and the 60 degree Cottons for towels.

I know most towels say 40 degrees, but I want to do a hot wash from time to time to keep the machine clean.

It's nearly 11 years old, and hasn'y gone smelly yet.
    If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.

O Yeah I forgot I also use the 30c delicate programme.

This question is mainly asking what programme do you use just as a general question not because of anything smelling that problem was with a item of clothing not the machine. But it has made me wonder if I should be using the Intensive wash.

I don't use speed perfect because it uses more electricity.

I don't have a Bosch (Miele) but regularly do a 60 or even hotter wash.  It helps keep the machine 'clean' by killing anything that can survive in the drum/machine at low temperature.  It has a 'maintenance wash' which should indicate it needs doing every now and then but it has only come on once in 14 years, I guess because I use a hot wash at least once a week.

I generally use Easy Care 30 or 40, depending on the load.
I use Speed Perfect if I’m in a hurry, Eco Perfect if not.

I tend to stick everything in the 1hour Mixed Load 40 most of the time. Not noticed any issues.

This is great thank you everyone that has left comments, It looks like no one uses the Intensive wash, I was thinking people were going to say they use it as its better at washing and cheaper than the Mixed load wash.

Seems like the Bosch washing machines works differently as I have read longer washes are cheaper to run.

It depends on the weight of the load too. The mixed load programme is only suitable for a half load. If I'm at my dads I stick most things on the Cotton wash but reduce the temp to 40C unless I'm doing whites or sheets, I might occasionally use the speed perfect programme.

I've a much older Bosch machine (20 years or more old) at my house where the settings are a much simpler affair, just cottons, delicates, wool etc and you choose the temp manually. Also washes a lot quicker but no doubt not as economical. I much prefer it.

I use 40 degree mixed load for most things, putting spin down to 1200. For bedding I use 60.  No smell problems.

Depends what I’m washing. Mostly I use the “cottons” or the “easy care” settings. I also use a laundry cleanser alongside detergent, and occasionally I use a washing machine cleaning product to clean out the machine itself.

TBH I’ve never really paid much attention to what is economical. I also use the tumble dryer 90% of the time rather than hanging it out. Not very MSE, I know 🤣

Thanks, I think I can now safely say that the programme I use mixed load is the one to use👍

If anyone in the future has any problems with musty smell clothes I would say use the Intensive wash with a good amount of vinegar, and all should be good, then you can go back to using the normal programme you use.

I will say the wash programme Mixed load had nothing to do with why some items were smelling.
