Observices (OPC) Private Parking Charge Notice

Received this PPC through the post as registered keeper, but i was not the driver as i was at work at the time of the incident. Does anyone know much about this company and is it worth defending or is it best just to pay the reduced rate and get the monkey off my back so to speak. Thanks guys

If OPC complied with POFA then as keeper they can hold you liable for the actions of your vehicle , even if you were in Honolulu at the time ( so not the driver )

    Dodgy Doug!

I was out in St Albans recently and I noticed his big yellow signs are very wordy - but don't have any BPA or IPC logo on them.  Check back at the location for signage positioning or lack of it.  He's got criminal form for misleading signage.

Sadly it seems nothing has changed in 10 years. He should be struck off for life.

Have you complained to your MP?

IMO two and a half hours in a complex with shops such as PCWorld, Next, Wren,  Pets at Home,  Homebase,  etc., etc., etc.  Is hardly unreasonable.   Have you complained to the Managemnt Company, individual retailers, local newspapers, Trading Standards, etc?

  • So shall i start the appeal rolling and hope they give up the chase or pay the discount rate? Thanks

Speak to the management suite at the retail park to see if you can get it quashed on the grounds that DPD mentioned. How is a customer going to visit, shop and eat at all outlets in that small window of time!?  I would personally go though all the channels to defend against this convicted leach! He relies on fear and what evidence does he have?

Do not pay them a penny unless a judge orders you to, and that happening is very unlikely imo.  There can be no earthly reason why ones stay in a large complex such as this shoild be limited to that period.

Speak to your MP and highlight the various news articles regarding his criminal history and how the DVLA have given him your details on a silver platter without any scrutiny, gatekeeping or basic safeguarding measures because he has a BPA number!  Worthy of MPs attention and clearly a matter of local interest. Maybe Speak to your local paper too. The readers need to know Dodgy Dougie is up to his tricks!
  • Hi guys appeal was rejected by Dodgy Dougie. I have appealed via POPLA. He has uploaded some black and white blurred images of signs. But take a look at this one i have taken myself.
