Samsung Galaxy A12 vs Motorola Moto G50

Hello folks
Trying to sort my mum out with a cheap mobile (pay monthly).
Not much money to play with but she absolutely doesn't need anything fancy. Mainly using it to make calls, text, sometimes WhatsApp, and occasional GPS navigation if she gets a bit lost in town. I'm sure she'll get used to using the camera a bit as well.
Looking on Tesco Mobile and have narrowed it down to either the Samsung Galaxy A12 (£10.99 per month) or the Motorola Moto G50 (£13.99).
Neither phone is spectacular, but I think ok for the price - and surely both are perfectly adequate for my mum's needs.
But I'd still like to get some opinions as to which one I should go for.
I gather that a headline feature of the Moto G50 is it is 5g. That is pretty useless for my mum. But even apart from that reviews suggest it is a slightly better phone (better CPU etc).
Anyone got any opinions on these phones?
Thanks very much.

You may want to consider putting simple launcher or similar on it if she struggles.

Oh! I hadn't even heard of such things! Very good suggestion.
