Pension has finally landed - As an insistent client acting against advice -*DOORS CLOSED 03/09/2021*

End of day I think the IFAs need to cover themselves. They know the game you are playing, why would anyone pay £xx,xxx.xx for advice if there was no intention on the client to transfer their pension.1

Agreed. Its just interesting that in the space of 30 seconds he went from not being able to advise me to it being fine, just on the basis of my jokey reply "well of course you could find some reason I hadn't considered".0

Read my posts above.

So you believe my FA acted inappropriately?
How could anybody say this since you retracted your statement in the manner you described?
You have absolutely no proof that the adviser disbelieved your statement.
Therefore he took you on as a client in good faith and advised you in good faith that in his opinion, a transfer out was not in your best interests?
You did not take the advice (and as you pointed out this was your right), and organised the transfer.

The proof is that he seemed a reasonably intelligent chap, and no-one with an ounce of intelligence could have been in no doubt what my intentions were. Now if you'd said me saying the right words was enough for him to go ahead with advice then fair enough, but to pretend he was able to do so because he thought there was any chance I would follow that advice, not buying it (nor is HappyHarry), but a convenient fudge for any IFA/FA wanting to bag a fee.0

Double negative there...... did you mean could have been in any doubt?
But still, the way he seemed and your surmise about what he thought don't entitle you ( or indeed anybody else) to impute motive?

Dale72 said:He was an FA with HL, I said I'm transferring whatever advice you give, so he said in that case I can't help you, to which I quickly said well of course there maybe something that crops up during the process that I hadn't thought of.....So all was good. We both knew the score though.
If it was the 1st meeting he wouldn’t know how well informed you were about investing/looking after your own investments or what benefits were being given up for the CETV offered. So maybe, just maybe he thought your comment was genuine.
You said in an early post he gave you a chance to backtrack but in the above you say “I quickly said” so maybe he assumed you didn’t know everything about the pros and cons of transferring.1 -
