My pharmacy finally reopened on Wednesday
Which is when they said they would open.1 -
If its like some pharmacies then there is a machine that they log on to to get their dose. They don't involve the pharmacy staff0

I use the online system that's attached to my GP's surgery. From there I can make appointments (by phone mostly at the moment) and order my regular medication. It's so easy - a day or two later I phone the pharmacy who arrange a delivery time/day. I used to have one of those online postal services but was sent into panics whenever they emailed to say they didn't have a particular drug or some other excuse. Twice I had to contact my GP and ask for emergency supplies, especially of blood pressure meds! (The stress, the stress . . ) Now I order about a week in advance and if the pharmacy don't have what I want, they do then have enough time to get more stock before delivery day. It suits me and it could very well suit you, too. Just get connected to your GP, it's a service that's available to everyone. Makes life a lot easier and will ease the strain on your poor wife, too.
(P.S. Methadone users deserve our sympathy, not our scorn. There but for the grace of God - you do not know their circumstances, so cannot judge.)Please note - taken from the Forum Rules and amended for my own personal use (with thanks) : It is up to you to investigate, check, double-check and check yet again before you make any decisions or take any action based on any information you glean from any of my posts. Methadone users have to get their methadone at a specified time, in order to keep the drug in their bodies within the therapeutic window which then subdues the cravings and withdrawal symptoms and stops them seeking heroin.
It's really hard for methadone users to stick to the programme and at least they are making an effort to get off the "hard stuff" that wrecks so many lives. It's not easy for them so maybe a little empathy rather than critism wouldn't go amiss.16 -

I have experience of addiction - "alcohol" which nearly ikilled me and finally managed to kick the habit some twenty five years ago - and haven't touched the evil stuff since !
Anyway - they ARE methadone users - what's wrong with that?2 -
You should have a decent stock of tablets if they are critical to your health. I only take tablets for high blood pressure but still ensure I have at least 2 weeks supply left when I get the repeat prescription.

My GP surgery allow you to request a repeat prescription 2 weeks before end of supply.
By requesting it then any delay in it processing is not critical.2 -

You can still order 2 weeks ahead even if the prescription is for a months supply.
I do with one of mine as the online pharmacy I use, usually has to order those in.2
