£199 all-in Canada flights

What's it about?

The BAA Worldpoints loyalty card is offering members flights to various Canadian destinations from Heathrow, Gatwick, Edinburgh and Glasgow for an amazing £199 including taxes. A search of screenscraper sites shows the cheapest flights to Canada at around £300.

What's a Worldpoints card?

Worldpoints is a loyalty scheme giving points for spending at British Airport Authority (BAA) airports. Simply get it swiped whenever you spend at an airport and you'll collect 1 point for each pound spent at all retailers, parking schemes etc, with the exception of bureaux de change where you'l receive 1 point for every £10 exchanged. The scheme's free to join (and even gives you 100 points free when you do) so if you fly at all it's a no-brainer.

As well as providing rewards including discounts on car hire and airport parking and £5 vouchers to spend in airports the scheme also provides member offers and deals. To see all deals, once you've signed up simply click Member offers on the menu on the left-hand side of your screen.

How do I join?

Simply go to www.baa.com/worldpoints and sign up. While it takes roughly 10 days to receive your welcome pack you should receive an email containing your card number.

How do I get a flight at this price?

Once you've joined call the Canadian Affair booking line on 0207 616 9904 and quote "Worldpoints offer" and your Worldpoints card number. This price is for flights in May, June or October 2008. The availablity depends on the route and dates you're able to go so the more flexible your plans are the more likely you are to get tickets at this price.

Plus, even if you're travelling on another route MoneySavers below have reported other routes being available at good prices directly from Canadian Affair. To check it out visit the Canadian Affair website.

What are the destinations?

Flights included in the offer are from Heathrow, Gatwick, Edinburgh and Glasgow to Toronto, and from Gatwick to Montreal, Halifax, Ottawa and Frederiction.

Are there any terms and conditions?

You need to book your flights by 31 December 2007. Prices for other months differ although at this price it's worth asking for their normal prices.

I always use Canadian Affair as they're always the cheapest. Shame that the offer doesn't include Calgary though. Just my luck!

  • Hi mitchg,

I've updated the top post, it's for specific dates so it's probably worth giving a call and asking which dates they have available at this price for your chosen route.

    Andrea :)

Cheapest I found was over £300 return for May thru Oct next year. What dates were you looking at???

Its also worth mentioning that the prices change al the time. We went to Toronto earlier this year - booked in Feb and paid £250 each. 2 weeks later the prices had dropped by £30 each!!

We went to Toronto in May with Flyglobespan () and paid £680 for 2ad & 2ch, i think there has been a new surcharge levied since though and i presume fuel price increases will have been factored in as well.
Suppose this is BA though and not flyglobespan
  • Interesting is this still on? and possible to get registered before christmas and pay for a £199 cheap flight?

How easy is it to get to New York from Toronto?

Or any of those other cities for that matter?

You can drive but its a whole day journey. Other option is to get the train to Niagara Falls, cross over to the States and then get an internal flight from Buffalo. Of course you can get a flight from Toronto to New York but that is pretty expensive.
