Can someone tell me, is the process of declaring income the same as usual or does it change when you start to earn some income from self employment? What does the process involve?

Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.1

If you are in the 12 month start up period, you will also be required to attend quarterly review appointments at the jobcentre. As @calcotti said, the actual reporting of income and expenses is completed online each month.
