I really meant is the calculation of what you owe correct?simplysounds said:Dazed_and_C0nfused said:Do you agree the £600 is owed back to HMRC?
If so just pay what you can when you can.
If HMRC proactively start pursuing you for the money then you can try and agree a payment plan.Dazed_and_C0nfused said:Do you agree the £600 is owed back to HMRC?

i don't agree i owe them. when they gave me the rebate i hadn't worked for 2 years which they were aware of. they did offer a payment plan but as i told them i have no income and will have no future income as i'm not able to work. i live in a small village these days without public transport and no employment opportunities which i conveyed to themDazed_and_C0nfused said:Do you agree the £600 is owed back to HMRC?

If it is then all you can do is pay what you can when you can and if they pursue the amount due explain your circumstances and make a nominal offer.0 -
I've had this happen to me. I got a rebate once and then a month or two later I got a letter to say I owed the HMRC (or Inland Revenue as it was then). All that happened was when I started work again my tax code was adjusted to repay the debt.

if you think its wrong then you need to tell them why
if its right you will need to set up a payment plan with them1
