FTTP entry points

Pretty straightforward question I hope. During an FTTP installation can the incoming fibre cable be routed into the house using the same entry point and alongside a Sky sat cable or will this potentially cause interference to the incoming data signal? Would OR even entertain this?

Its possible. Any particular reason why you don't want the fibre using the same entry route as the copper? This would mean not having external fibre cabling showing up.0

Also, the entry point for my master socket is on one side of the rear dining room with no power and the nearest power outlet is on the other side of a set of french doors, the other side of which is where my Sky cabling enters. The concern is that the Sky coax does carry a current which potentially could interfere with the data signal on the fibre.0 -
You can avoid - or minimize - having external cabling showing up on external walls by routing the fibre into the same (existing) entry point as copper. For example this is where both my copper and fibre enter the home:
Now if i wanted my fibre entry point elsewhere, eg side of home, then fibre cabling would have to be run externally like this:
The fibre cabling is well insulated so i don't think interference from Sky cable will be an issue.

I'm with you now. That ship has already sailed in my house though, there's cables going everywhere, from old Virgin Media/NTL cables, TV coax, Sky cables and telephone. As mentioned my existing telephone cable is routed from the drop point at the front corner to the rear where it enters the property. I'd wish it could be as neat as yours but sadly without digging up everywhere and laying conduit I'm afraid it is what it is. 😁

A full fibre connection is using light and is immune to the normal sources of interference.2

As littleboo says, optical fibre is immune from electrical interference and is really only affected by tight bending radii, although the construction of the cable generally protects the fibre from any real damage.Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers1
