Thanks for this offer! My golden retriever has hip dysplacia, and has had it since she was 4 months old (pretty sucky for a young dog!) anyway, the dog dr. recommended giving glucosamine sulphate to her as a cheaper alternative to the other more 'vetinary' type medicines.
So Crystal is going to have another months worth of tablets! Thank you

Thanks for the post, I've ordered some for my hubby.
Although there is no conclusive clinical evidence to show that glucosamine sulphate helps, my husband and many of his friends all of whom are heavily into skateboarding swear by a combination of glucosamine sulphate and cod liver oil tablets for aiding recovery of damaged joints. My Mum (who has arthritis in her wrists) & brother also both take it.
Notes:
1. You are likely to have to take these for at least three months before you notice any difference.
2. The original stuff is made from shark fin so not suitable for vegetarians.
3. You can now get a vegetarian version from some suppliers.

For a while, I have been taken code liver oil with no effect for the joints in the tops of my fingers. They ache a lot when I wake in the mornings. I would like to try glucosamine, which has been recommended to me recently by one of the nurses I work with, but as most of you can see, it is a bit pricy. Nonetheless, if this is the best thing for aching joints I may give this a go free or not.
By the way, I have been taking 500mls of code liver oil, maybe I should be taking 1000.
Edit: Perhaps they are not so expensive after all. £5.59 for years supply @ Simplysupplements. Will order some as soon as possible.0 -

With regard the Codliver oil. While I appreciate that many people swear by it I think folk should be aware that the active ingredient OMEGA3's are far more concentrated in Fish oil. So while a 1000mg of codliver oil contains 137mg omega the same amount of Fish Oil contains 300mg omega. So rather than taking twice as much Codliver oil, why not change to fish oil and you would more than double to cost effectiveness, as both are about the same price from ZIPVIT
Those who are taking Omega for Arthritis should be aware of the latest scientific research regarding the amount to take.
Supplementation of fish oil and olive oil in patients with rheumatoid arthritis. fish oil omega-3 fatty acids (3 g/d) and 9.6 mL of olive oil for the most beneficial effect. 9.6ml is about two teaspoons.
To obtain 3g of omega you would do better taking two teaspoons of Zipvit's Omega Juice as taking 10 capsules would be a pain.My weight loss following Doktor Dahlqvist' Dietary Program

Vegetarian Glucosamine Sulphate - 750mg HCl - This exciting new product is a non animal derived Glucosamine, due to being sourced from a corn base that undergoes a special fermentation process, and is the only non-shellfish Glucosamine that is suitable for vegetarians and vegans. Traditional Glucosamine is sulphate based and is bound by potassium slat (2KCl). The result is that per gram, only 60% is pure Glucosamine. The new vegetarian product is the Hydrochloride (HCl) form of Glucosamine and as a result contains more pure Glucosamine per gram than the 2KCl product. To be precise, the vegetarian Glucosamine HCl, per gram gives 83% pure Glucosamine and as an added bonus, the tablet size is smaller and therefore easier to swallow. RDD 2 per Day - 90 (size P)
