I NEVER EVER EXCHANGE ON A FRIDAY, for this specific reason! If things go wrong on Friday you have all weekend to stress while all offices are closed! Good luck xx
I'm assuming you mean complete.
The majority of transactions complete on Friday. The majority of which go through without a hitch. Unfortunately though the OP was one of those unfortunate ones.

I wonder about a system where everyone due to put net cash into a chain must send it to a special account for that chain the day before. Early on completion day, the institution holding the chain account notifies everyone that it has the expected balance (or not!) Keys are released before lunch and money distributed the same afternoon.user1977 said:
but I'd have thought it feasible for the funds to be transferred first (under appropriate undertakings) and everyone agrees exchange and completion once the money is sitting in the correct accounts.
I don't see why such a system would be needed as it would just add complications and cost to the process. The solicitors could just send the money to each other a day before completion anyway and no need for an intermediary holding the funds.0 -
I hope the silence means the OP is busy moving in.
I hope we find out what has happened.3 -
Me too... I hate being left in suspense...
