O2 SIM only, end of min term?

I have previously been with 3 and their contracts roll over to 30 day ones at the end of a 12 month (min) contract. In the past these contracts ran many months at the old rate (a year or more in some cases). However, last year it didn’t take long before they sent a letter giving notice to switch to a more expensive tariff prompting me to switch to O2.
My minimum term with O2 will be up shortly. What is the current situation with regard to O2 fixed/min term contracts rolling over to 30 day ones and continuing for a long period at the old rate and on the old terms and conditions?
Thanks

Your o2 plan will continue beyond the minimum term - until O2 tell you otherwise in writing. As to when/if this will happen is anybody’s guess.

Funny I was commenting on this earlier - technically the vast majority of mobile contracts are 30 day rolling contracts - it is the minimum term that varies (30 days, 12m,18m or 24m).
Never come across an actual 12m one (i.e. where service literally terminates after 12m).
Vodafone are the ones that have broadband style 'time limited discounts' - will be a great help to them in forcing folk on to new 'no free EU roaming' contracts. Though of course the base prices will be lower - that is why they introduced the charge - to save those who don't roam money!Certain OTT members have caused me to add this disclaimer: all advice given is free of charge & as such should be taken to be IIRC (as I don't spend hours researching all answers  )!0 -

They love these discounts for 2 reasons - first they can base the rip-off (inflation if not negative plus an extra 3.9%) price rise on the pre-discount amount & second (from what I can see, as often they are not mentioned at all) they are all time limited (now, maybe not 2+ years ago).
Worse still the £16 for 100GB tariff goes to £21 (likely to be well over £22 with increase) for 20GB after 12 months! That is what I'd call a whopping baked in price rise! 16p/GB to £1.10/GB!Certain OTT members have caused me to add this disclaimer: all advice given is free of charge & as such should be taken to be IIRC (as I don't spend hours researching all answers  )!0 -

BUFF said:You should get a text from O2 ~ 1 month beforehand giving the option of staying on the same tariff, changing tariff or leaving to another supplier. Mine is due up at the end of September & I have already had my text - fwiw I am staying on the same tariff (10GB, Unltd, Unltd for £10.14/month) as none of the current tariffs O2 offers are as good.1
