Looks like you have failed to respond to receiving a County Court Claim Form?
Did you receive a County Court Claim Form?
If so, when? I.e. what is the Issue Date on it?

As you have been told. the answer is in the newbies, please keep reading them until things fall into place,  This is a complicated issue and there are no easy answers.
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.

You had until 4pm on Monday 16th August to either file an Acknowledgment of Service or a Defence.

As you did neither, a Default Judgment was applied for by the Claimant and af course was granted.

Your best option now is to pay the Judgment amount in the time allowed by the court to avoid a County Court Judgment affecting you ability to obtain credit for the next six years.

You could then/also apply for a set-aside if you think you have a REALLY good reason for ignoring a N1 claim form and not as you thought, a letter before claim.  You will have to pay £255 for the set-aside.  You also need to consider whether you stand a realistic chance of defending the underlying claim or not.  I think you need to look at the sums involved and calculate if spending additional money is a good bet.

I am saying you need to pay the whole amount that is stated on the Judgment for Claimant.

@Le_Kirk is suggesting that you may be able to set aside that Judgment. You should consider that option too.
