4kw system?.

What the installer has said.
If you use the solar energy during the day to cover loads in the house then you would be looking at cutting your bill by 40-50%. You also then get paid for export if you sign up to one of the suppliers who cover this.

Installer have previously offered to make right the 0.03kw of difference and that while the certificate states 3.97kw, this is still a 4kw system.
But they did not explain that a 4kw system I was going to get less, this is my argument.
Anyway ordered a dongle for the inverter, and will connect to Growatt cloud server to give a graph as to what and when my peak output is.
Cheers guys / gals
I'd imagine based on my figures, that if you have a pure south facing roof, 3600kwh a year is realistic, I get around 3300 as sse so lose a couple of hours at the end of the day that you will capture.
Solar optimisation will definitely help you use more, but I think 50% usage is very optimistic unless you are a very high user, over 6000kwh a year at least.West central Scotland
4kw sse since 2014 and 6.6kw wsw / ene split since 2019

Essentially you have 4kw of panels give or take 0.04 kw and following discussion the installer has offered to make good the missing 0.04 kw.Have you had a discussion with the installer regarding the inverter only being 3.6 kw and if so what was the response?
Whether you save 50% on your bill is down to your usage and whether you use the solar pv to cover loads such as washing, cooking, water heating etc. Most of us on this forum have modified our usage to ensure we use as much as possible of the solar pv generated. If you work 9-5 and don’t take any steps to use more solar during the day then you probably won’t cover 40-50% of your electricity costs. Do you know how much you self consume and how much is exported? Incidentally, have you signed up to a smart export tariff?
This wasn’t your original complaint though. You were concerned that you weren’t seeing 4kw generated in August. Did the installer tell you that you would in the quote?Northern Lincolnshire. 7.8 kWp system, (4.2 kw west facing panels , 3.6 kw east facing), Solis inverters, Solar IBoost water heater, Mitsubishi SRK35ZS-S and SRK20ZS-S Wall Mounted Inverter Heat Pumps, ex Nissan Leaf owner)2 -
My complaint is that the installer told me that it was a 4kw system that was going to be fitted, which I paid for.
Just looking at my contract it says pv 4kw inverter with monitor.
Ja 330w panels x 12.
There was no mention that it was a 3.6kw inverter, my take on it was a 4kw system would be fitted and was looking to see 4kw on the monitor, but it was only 3.35 kw max.
When I complained to the they says you will never see 4kw in Scotland.
I complained to heisscheme but they only says that 3.68kw is the maximum output that is allowed.
Using my phone hard to check back on emails to quote lol
Cheers guys / gals

What would be your preferred resolution of this matter?Replacement of the 3.6kw inverter with a 4.0 kw one? Over the course of a year the increased efficiency of the 3.6 kw inverter might out weigh the odd times that generation exceeded 3.6kw. You would get what you contracted for but would it be better than what you have now?
Compensation for reduced output? The amount would be minimal given the argument on efficiency.
Some other solution?Northern Lincolnshire. 7.8 kWp system, (4.2 kw west facing panels , 3.6 kw east facing), Solis inverters, Solar IBoost water heater, Mitsubishi SRK35ZS-S and SRK20ZS-S Wall Mounted Inverter Heat Pumps, ex Nissan Leaf owner)2 -

My wife works from home, we are both in the house so we use up the electricity with the washing machine on, oven dishwasher, dryer etc.
At this time of posting my monitor is reading 1.14kw and climbing.

I understand you are unhappy but what I was asking was what would you like the installer to do to make you happy? Are you saying you want a system that puts out 4kw all the time?Northern Lincolnshire. 7.8 kWp system, (4.2 kw west facing panels , 3.6 kw east facing), Solis inverters, Solar IBoost water heater, Mitsubishi SRK35ZS-S and SRK20ZS-S Wall Mounted Inverter Heat Pumps, ex Nissan Leaf owner)0
