Back in may I parked in murrayfield retail park in edinburgh, I over parked by around 15/20 minutes and received a letter for a charge from the retail park which I ignored, but I just received one from debt recovery plus for a further fine of £140 or they’ll take me to court, do I pay this?

Do you live in Scotland ? Ignore DRP and never ever name the driver in Scotland. Nothing will come of this2 -
Just make sure that in any contact with the PPC, you are the KEEPER and do not tell the PPC who was driving.2

It is not a fine, it is an invoice for an alleged breach ot contract. Have you complained to your MP.You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0

At the moment, a vehicle keeper living in Scotland cannot be held liable for a private parking charge.
Sadly this will change in the future because your dear leader has decided to introduce a law from south of the border that will allow someone who was not in the car at the time to be liable. So much for wanting independence.
The keeper should complain to the landowner and their MP about this unregulated industry, referred to by MPs across all parties as rogues, scammers, and bloodsuckers.
The driver's identity should not be revealed under any circumstances.
Debt collectors are powerless and can be ignored across the whole of the UK.
PPCs can be ignored in Scotland (until the law changes, but will not be retrospective) and Northern Ireland.
