Hi thanks for the reply managed to switch to British gas zero fixed October 2022. Called British gas who told me its not available tried live chat and the agent told me that the tariff has expired was about to give up but told him lots of people have switched to this tariff and please can he check with his seniors. Came back after 10 minutes and said he's applied to switch me to the zero fixed October 2022 tariff so if anyone who wants a zero standing charge tariff apply asap with British gas.
Thanks for the heads up on this as was also on BG zero fixed about to expire end of this month and could not find another zero SC but then went on live chat yesterday and they agreed to move me to BG Zero fixed Oct 2022 too. Interestingly I got the email from BG alerting me that the previous zero fixed was due to expire end of this month and it said my cheapest renewal option based on my useage was some other tariff way more expensive than zero fixed October 2022….nowhere was this new zero fixed tariff mentioned. Maybe because it was no longer available even though they agreed to switch me to it (and have since got email confirming been done as of today).

I stumbed upon this thread as well and made my request by chat to change Elec and Gas to Zero Fixed Oct 2022.  That was on 13 Sept and I noticed today that the change has been applied.  Happy days....
Was this via Livechat or phone please, and what did the application process entail?

October's rushing towards us so I thought I'd start looking for another zero standing charge tariff. Unfortunately I haven't found anything.

Have any of you found anything that might be useful?

Utilita is the only one, but the first two kwh per day are more expensive than the rest - you will need to do your sums. I don't think they are currently taking on customers though.

The days of widely available zero standing charge tariffs are, I fear, gone for quite a while.

It is/was not a sustainable business model. Zero standing charge tariffs were being exploited by consumers who have renewables and are off Grid for 6 months of the year. Onboarding and account management costs suppliers money which is why we have seen innovations such as a minimum annual cost or a membership charge (standing charges in all but name).

Hi - not so much about zero rate charge but whether there should be one at all. I currently have gas and electricity supplied but my only gas use is the kitchen hob. That has therefore generated very small usage charges but the full standing charge. We are getting a new kitchen and thinking I was being clever, opted for an electric (induction) hob. I asked my supplier what and when they needed to know so as to lose the SC for Gas. They replied that the SC is for the gas meter and even if I didn't use any I'd still be charged! I replied asking what if I changed supplier and only asked for electricity - would they try and charge me for a Gas standing charge? As yet - no response. Any thoughts please?
