02 PAYG
Options
I have a 321 SIM (payg) with 02.
They have a new Nokia 1.4 for £69 but when you add it to your basket they ask you to pick a "big bundle" SIM, min £10 top up.
You only pay for the phone and I guess they supply the SIM and you have to top it up with a min of a tenner to get it working.
Can I just put my current 321 SIM in the new phone and not use the new one.

The Nokia 1.4 only has 32Gb storage on it. And its Android Go. Some apps from the Play store won't work on it.If you buy a phone directly from O2 it's almost certainly network locked. You may do better to buy a (better?) phone from elsewhere (sim free) and then you just use your existing sim. Yes it'll be more expensive but phones you get what you pay for, and cheaper phones usually skimp on three areas - storage, memory and camera. The camera may not be a breaking point but the storage (and memory) eventually will.0

AFAIK all 02 phones are unlocked and from previous experience 02 unlocked free of charge.
Horses for courses, you buy a phone for own personal needs.

O2 only appear to sell phones with an associated SIM. In the case of a PAYG phone they will add a SIM and a £10 top up. Whether that top up is any use is up to the potential purchaser.
FWIW, the O2 web page “shop” lists iPhones cheaper than elsewhere. As a current O2 SIM only contract customer I phoned and asked if I could buy one to give as a present and asked if there was a catch as it looked like you could save a few quid. Despite the site not stating that you had to include a new contract, the sales assistant said it was only available with a new contract! Yet if you go to their website shop, look for outright purchase, you can buy an iPhone 12 mini for £548 without taking out an airtime contract. I’ve not yet tried it…1 -
Had a look at the O2 website, it does seem that an iPhone 12 mini 5G can be bought, contract free, for £549 in purple and 64GB. Swap version to something else (white, 256GB say) and outright purchase disappears.
Complicated this mobile market innit!2 -
ALL 02 phones are sold unlocked.
If you are a current 02 SIM card user you can go to the shop buy the phone you want and they will not require you to buy another SIM.1 -
@Frozen_up_north from experience they sell them with a £10 bundle SIM, but no top up - whether you choose to top up the SIM (and activate the bundle) when it arrives or bin it is entirely your option.Certain OTT members have caused me to add this disclaimer: all advice given is free of charge & as such should be taken to be IIRC (as I don't spend hours researching all answers  )!0
