Southern Water D Debits

Southern water has set my direct debits on usage
of about 35% more than my average usage. Anyone else notice this?

I don’t pay water by direct debit, I pay by bank transfer every 6 months, for this reason. I believe that they tend to over compensate with the direct debits so you don’t fall in to arrears, calculating a prediction of usage increase in certain times of the year.If you believe you can, you will. If you believe you can't, you won't.

I get my water from Southern too, and I pay by DD every 6 months, in arrears based on my water meter readings.If you can afford to pay 6x as much at once but 6x less often, this might work for you?
