Good idea, but depends where they got their points! And an increasing number of places have 20mph limits, and ours seem to be fairly random.

So then you would just set it for 20mph

An automatic car will only speed up if you press the pedal, its you that causes the speeding.

Yes I thought the same , although I guess what was meant is that in a manual you can leave it in 3rd gear and it will tend to stop the speed drifting upwards in a 30 mph zone . I learnt that on  a Speed awareness course !
