I moved from Plusnet for a couple of reasons. One was inability to use short sms codes (outwards) and the other was the fact that they didn't offer wifi calling (and I had a very patchy ee signal at home).

I'm now on a cheap contract with Three which covers both issues.

OP, Uswitch were doing an exclusive O2 sim only plan for £6/m with 5gb data and unlimited calls/texts, on a 12 month contract. It seems to have disappeared but keep checking Uswitch as it may come back at anytime. Alternatively, another USwitch exclusive is EE sim only plan for £10/m with 10gb data and unlimited calls/text, again on a 12 month contract.

OP, that  £6/m for 4GB data O2 sim only plan is back via Uswitch:

    Thanks for the that
  • On a side point, now I understand what short code SMS is, I am delighted that no one can spam me using this on Plusnet.

What if a genuine organization such as PayPal - who use short code SMS - wanted you to confirm a transaction?

Of course they can. You cannot send using short codes, receiving from them - as mentioned earlier in this thread - is not a problem.
