Strange speed issue

I've recently had Sky out to look at and issue with my line speed which was connecting much lower than it should be and whilst there he changed my master socket and faceplate to the latest version and got the cap removed from my line and although it's still not connecting to the highest I've had in the past (70Mb/s) it's higher than what it was and I've been told it should get higher over the next week or so.

I'm currently connected at 57Mb/s but the odd thing is whenever I run a speed test, regardless if I use wired or wifi I only get around 36Mb/s down and 18Mb/s up, I appreciate that on wifi that's OK but I would expect higher on a wired connection direct to the router. It's almost as if the throughput is being managed. Any ideas?

I did, the same result. Having said that, something seems to have changed and it's working much better now.

Turn off Wifi on the router.
Ensure only one device is connected to the router, via ethernet.
If it's a windows device, ensure it is booted in safe mode with networking.
Try different speed test sites / servers.
Your throughput speed should be a minimum of 75% of your sync rate.

It's worth running tests at different times of the day to check for congestion.
Maybe a high quality RJ11 cable would improve your sync speed a little more.

It's all sorted now. The line was going through the usual retraining over the past week, getting 75mbps down at the moment and speed tests on both wireless and wired are as expected.
