Teletext holidays.

My partner and myself booked a holiday with Teletext holidays before the pandemic.
Obviously our holiday was then cancelled,
Due to coronavirus.
We had no confirmation that our holiday had been cancelled. We were only told this when my partner rang them and she was verbally told it had been cancelled.

We have had no joy getting a refund from teletext holidays. Thankfully  we had booked the holiday on a credit card (Barcley card)
So decided to do a charge back.
Finally this morning, we have received a letter from Barcley card saying the holiday money will be credited back to our account.
However, Barcley card have also said, they have insufficient evidence that teletext cancelled our holiday.
If Barcley card do not get a response from Teletext holidays then Barcley card could and will take the money back.
Any emails we have sent to Teletext holidays get bounced back.
My main concern is if Teletext do not confirm to Barcley card that they cancelled out holiday then the money will definitely be taken back from Barcley card.

Any advice on where to go now will be extremely helpful.

Can you elaborate on the highlighted?

Did Teletext cancel or did you decide that you could no longer travel due to the pandemic and perhaps not pay the holiday balance (resulting in Teletext cancelling).

Teletext cancelled our holiday. We booked and paid in full in December of 2019 and were due to go September 2020.
All we got from Teletext holidays were empty promises of a full refund. That never happened, so we went down the cc route.

In which case I think you have shown enough patience and if after all this time the refund has not materialise then your section 75 claim your best route.

I would prepare and hold evidence of your correspondence and requests for the refund just in case required for your S75 claim.  I can’t however see how TT could dispute the claim if nearly one year later they have not refunded you for a holiday that they cancelled.

The S75 claim worked. The money has been credited back on the card.
My concern is what Barcley card have said regarding lack of evidence and if TT are not forthcoming with the information the Barcleys could take the money back of the card.

TT do not respond to any emails and we have never received any letter confirming they cancelled our holiday.

My partner rang TT late July of 2020 to see if we could move the holiday to a later date and this was when we were told they had cancelled the holiday.

My partner has since spoken to Barcley card. They are still awaiting for TT to confirm, it was them that cancelled and not us.
