I have a Tesco SIM - Which IS 02
My wife has a Viirgin SIM - Which, I understand is NOW 02
Why is my wifes signal so much better than mine - in (near) identical phones - in the same location ?

Possibly before if the bean counters can reach a settlement - personally o2 is a no go, so VM is too, just in case!alanjones60 said:Yes it is voda. They change to 02 when the voda agreement ends in 2023

I was with Three for almost 10 years and the signal slowly got worse and worse until I could not use my phone indoorsI am now with Tesco (02) which is now doing the same thingThe coverage map LIES !So Virgin is with Vodafone,- but is moving to O2 ?But apparently Vodafone has access to 5 milion BT hotspots in UK - Which I find strange since BT and O2 used to be linked ?I am confused !!!!2 -
There are more love triangles here than in the average soap!Deleted_User said:jnm21 said:

VM were EE, then Vodafone, soon to be o2 (now the same company as VM). EE are owned by BT, who used to own o2.

So if O2 is the the same as VM does that mean that Tesco is as well?jnm21 said:

In which case - why is my signal so bad compared to my wife's?
Why don't they share networks?0 -
Let's break this down:Deleted_User said:

Why don't they share networks?
1) O2 will be the same as VM, eventually, as they're part of the same company now. That means that, eventually, Tesco will be the same as well - just not right now.
2) in answer to your original question; your Tesco sim runs on O2. Your wife's VM signal runs on either EE (if she hasn't been changed over yet) or Vodafone (if she has). In short, the signal is different because it's coming from different networks.
