HSBC Advance - removal of minimum deposit condition

There's already no longer any benefit in holding an Advance account, and I doubt there will be any in the future.

Cost savings. Bet there will be a change in account line up in the pipeline.

In the T&C update, they appear to be aligning the Advance charges including overseas usage with the standard current account and away from the Premier / Jade charging structure.

M&S Current Accounts and Advance were probably competing with their First Direct brand - they have almost finished ditching the former and now appear to rebranding the latter.

They are putting some changes into their current accounts that I understand, similar things to other banks use card X amount of times get this reward..etc..

But really their offerings for me basic/advance pail in comparison to others
