@beanielou posted this on saving holmes diary and I LOVE it
This weekend is vision board, reflection 24 , 25 goals weekend .. and I may yet call 2025 the year of MORE PURRS.
Tx @Cheery_Daff @savingholmes I do think the target dates will keep me focusedDON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Just checking in to say hello all and please be careful in this weather and also the post drinking season. You are a precious human being, and deserve huge amounts of self care and love.
A lovely old friend is in a coma after he slipped down some stairs last week and we waiting to hear but the prognosis is very very bad. Waiting for final doctors/expert views. So I am chanting for him and his loved ones who have to make some decisions
Flat
I have been chanting to make and know the right decision on the flat /new agent contracts as well as loving my life whilst I battle forward as I have been a bit up/down and stressed for me.
However after a long chat with the solicitor and the various detailed actions/paths/possible costs at each stage etc today I am trusting my instinct and my decision even more. I am also feeling finally deeply at peace with my decision, even though I could still change my mind in the next few days. I wont. I am in the lucky place of being able to choose but this is not just about me but my neighbours and society as well
So let the battles begin, it is a fantastic collaboration of us all as well living here, not sure how many will join but the proposed new agents contract is almost teetering on slum landlord and quite frankly I will not sign such a thing.
So now i am chanting for us all to win. We have a meeting with the local council tomorrow on it as a last ditch so we dont go to court but its ok, I am clear on the path
It may mean I am here for the battle so buying in the midst of it may not happen as I may need to stay as I will incur costs if I leave half way or will have to negotiate the fees.
However I am still sticking to my target dates with slight amendmentsI may keep just saving with the new higher income (when I get it) and this lower rent and then be able to pay for a place in cash even (huge dream target) in a couple years.
Jan 30th get new work contracts so increase earnings by ££££ (I have a figure in mind) - - 24 days to go - not much action on that today
May 3rd - clarity and ability to buy a flat and way forward clear. Ongoing victory for my community 116 days - finally at peace and made my decision 100%
Also as 2025 is now the 'Year of More PURRS' Tx @beanielou...
I also determine that each day I will meet with joy, gratitude for all I have inc the health of my loved on and the right mindset/action to create value every day and reach my goals. To waste time worrying and being stressed about this flat seems so pointless given a gorgeous gregarious friend may have his life support machines switched off soon.
Spending
Grocery £26.55/£200
I had a relaxed weekend , was stressing Friday re the flat decision I am now calm about, so Sat night I stayed in.
Sunday a friend had a spa pass so we had a sauna, swim, steam etc - she really noticed my new levels of muscle tone as we have been away a lot together. She is now wanting to trial my local place for ems given me in a bikini.... I feel more work to do but she said she could really see the difference and my !!!!!! looked great - toned, higher, rounder...
We then bought a few bits and had a bottle of prosecco and some snacks to share - cheat day soeat_that_frog said:Happy new year @LadyWithAPlan and good luck with your targets! I think having target dates make things feel more real.DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)

Ah, interesting …. You are needed in the fight about these landlords so the Universe is leaving you just where you are until the battle is won, or at least well under way …
Still be worth scouting out for a new role though, so you can get settled in, 3 months demonstrable income etc. My hunch is you will be buying in the summer. 🤔😉😊
KKAs at 15.07.25:

Glad you feel more at peace with your decision 😊
Big hugs about your friend though. What an awful shock 😕 All fingers and toes crossed for him and his family xxx3 -
Wow big decision but good on you to stand by the others and fight. Hopefully it wont impact your timeline too as the solicitors should be doing most of the leg work. Courts are so booked up so that will buy you quite a bit of time.
Good luck with the the job hunting hope you find the right fit soon. As you said all you need is the 3 months to get the mortgage.Save £12k in 25 No 49

I do feel that me getting clarity on the costs/paths/risks has meant I could explain it all to some neighbours who also like me had the same concerns so we are now all feeling aware of the risks/rewards and willing to fight.TallGirl said:Wow big decision but good on you to stand by the others and fight. I gather courts are booked up so when we get to stage 2 it could take to the end of this year.
One has to stand up to bullies together as a community, and many of those affected are women cos lets face it we are still being paid less - so this is an important cause. We all know communities standing together can change the world and we do have fairness and a lot of law on our side.Cheery_Daff said:Glad you feel more at peace with your decision 😊

They (the agents) are trying all kinds of scare tactics but I honestly finally feel fearless and full of positive energy, ready to fly into 2025 with power, positivity and action towards the next stage of my life.
Having made peace with my instinct/decision, I now also feel that I can move forward with my other goals, reviewing 2024 - setting 2025 now I have cleared my path. So today I am full of the joys of spring
On the new income/contract/House buying
Yes I am planning to get a new source of regular paid income in by Jan 31st.
I am also planning to start looking at flats once I have the case moving forward and the new income.
Tx @PennysIntoPounds Today the experts are all looking at the results, yesterday it was all leaning towards the life support being switched off, he has teenage children. The family are scared they will make the 'wrong decision' but I have spoken and reassured them that once the doctors have reviewed the case (as they managed to do an MRI finally as the brain swelling has come down a bit), there is no mad rush and they will know themselves the right decision.
Apparently they all had a beautiful xmas and a coming together of families and acceptance of each other, so to just fall like this a few days later, he was completely healthy. It is beautifully sunny today in London and I embraced its beauty and the sun on my face as I walked to the gym, life is precious, every day and every dialogue is important and I need to keep that forefront in 2025 (the year of MORE PURRS) as I tackle the changes, challenges/opportunities.
Love to you all, and please hug your loved ones.
