A good toothbrush is a good investment but £130 on sale is unnecessary- Boots have Oral B electric toothbrushes reduced from £100 to £35, and they even have one in pink if that tickles your fancy. Put £95 in the flat pot!6

Just wanted to share some feedback on the topic of toothbrushes. Our dentist has told us that many features on electric toothbrushes are gimmicks and his only recommendation is to buy one with an alert that sounds if too much pressure is applied.8

Toothbrushes - the sonicare ones are halfprice with at Superdrug with the members card. I bought the Superdrug own brand sonic one and I think its brilliant for £25."Think of many things, do one"

In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!3 -

@PennysIntoPounds (so pleased your jewellery advent was on the annual mse round up!)
The only reason I am thinking of the expensive one is the one I have that has finally stopped charging (I think cos it rolled and hit floor hard) has lasted me I think over 2 decades !! Phillips sonicare without the app (don’t think apps existed in the Same way then!)
so I want something that lasts as long as the k last hence looking to replace what workedSandyShores said:Toothbrushes - the sonicare ones are halfprice with at Superdrug with the members card. I bought the Superdrug own brand sonic one and I think it’s brilliant for £25.
I do have £54 of boots points in waiting (though they have £10 points per £60 spent on boots plus half price
@Watty1 I don’t think I need the app then ..
I have cleaned the bottom of the charger and all the charging to give one last shot at charging - then look at this at the weekend and the sales
I have a bigger decision than the electric toothbrush- the flat - they are calling all up so I have I think really til Jan 2nd to decide on paying up /starting getting process or going down the legal routesavingholmes said:Hot water and heating included sounds a good deal @SouthCoast

yesterday I actually did some EOM work for a small client AND filed all the paperwork for my corp tax bill - go me !!I am a micro entity so can file online myself but even with knowledge and having actually gone through my accounts the questions can seem quite opaque at times so needed focus and calmDON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Went out yesterday afternoon in the hustle and bustle of Cov Garden to meet up with a friend - it was packed !! Crisp but not too cold and dry - Xmas tree looked great
We ended up in one of those tiny pubs Dickens drank in etc
then we met other friends in a private members bar - sat outside in the cigar area - luckily I had a super warm coat
then on way back just before 11pm grabbed some YS treats from Sains - apart from the eggs it was all junk so will update totals
think I am actually choosing to stay in today /this eve - 2 lots of lovely friends both suggesting I pop over their way but I really don’t fancy drinking and want to start the new year fresh - had a huge night out Sat at the 40th and was out again yesterday - and of course was out of london all the week before
my flat at is still not in place after Xmas either ..
2025 needs to be a year I take a lot of action towards house buying, side hustle and new contract goalsDON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)

Glad you had a nice Christmas and I totally agree about not going out NYE I am the same just cannot drink any more or eat any more.
Tough one with the flat sounds like you do need to get some decisions made on that front. Could you ask the company that owes you money to take you on as an employee that way you get a stable income (ok might be less than contractor) and you have a regular income for the house purchase?
As for toothbrushes I will add my thoughts. I had an expensive one that lasted years I think it was £90 at the time but since then I go for the £15-20 ones and they last about 2-3 years so not sure if it is good value or not buying cheap.

My oral B one has lasted years and still holds the charge well. Mr PIP has a newer oral B one, with the pressure sensor that's on sale at Boots, and that's great too
You already know what you want to do about the flat, just be brave enough to listen to your instinct. Maybe you can consult scary necklace7 -
Could it be your charger ? I bought a cheap charger off A***zon when mine stopped charging and it fixed it.
the thought of being in a pub / bar tonight fills me with horror
