Surprisingly (for me) my recent blood tests identified low Vitamin D3 and Phosphate and the Dr auto-prescribed a Vit D supplement, and asked me to take another for the next six months.
Given the amount of time I thought I spent outside, this was a surpriseSave £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)
OS Grocery Challenge in 2025 I am at £1286.68/£3000 or 42.89% of my annual spend so far

My ds had very depleted vitamin D levels before being diagnosed with coeliac disease, I hope yours in nothing as serious as this.
I don't know what it has been like where you are but summer he has been lacking in sun, which won't help.Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent
79.5 coupons rolled over 4/75.5 coupons spent - using for secondhand purchases
One income, home educating family3 -
@Suffolk_lass glad the doctor caught it - I have tests this week.
@Baileys_Babe most of us have GF DF allergies in my family (plus others ) but to test for Coeliac you have to eat wheat for 6 weeks first! My sister tried but felt so sick she gave up - I know I feel a million times better being strictly GF - I don’t even think about it
I am in london and do travel a lot - but I take the vit D most months of the year unless I am travelling or hot days
The exhibition at the weekend was v interesting - wouldn’t have paid £24 each per ticket but glad I won them!We then had some drinks10 days into this slow carb diet and I feel full and good (with me forcing myself to eat carp on my cheat day ) - I have also lost 2 lbs
the hardest part is drinking red wine instead of my normal beverages
however eating lots of pulses veg and proteins is obviously good for one and it’s v filling so I don’t think to eat harib- or crisps in the evening
plus in not eating even GF pasta GF bread potatoes I feel much better as there are some things in the processed GF foods that also make me bloat
so back on second week (started last Sat) and it’s a nutrition plan that is working and easily sustainable
waiting for the Vinted lady to approve her purchase than £40 winging my way

I wonder if this "...plus in not eating even GF pasta GF bread potatoes I feel much better as there are some things in the processed GF foods that also make me bloat" is caused by the equivalent of flour improvers and or preservatives causes this. I was convinced it was gluten I was reacting to until I started eating first artisan local sourdough, and then baking our own. This is what I put it down to and I can eat wheat.
@Baileys_Babe as LaPlan says, Vitamin D is for healing and (having looked it up!) Phosphate being low can be inflammation (it's also an indicator of cancer, diabetes and thyroid problems, but they tested me for all of these and they were all negative) - given I went to the GP with a knee injury (it was inflamed, double the size it normally is, and my body was trying to heal it) that and the weather may well be the causes. Anyway, I am awaiting delivery of the higher dose D3 supplement I must take.
Apparently my phosphate was low in 2012, the last time it was checked. That was the last time I went to A&E with a back episode (after shattering a vertebrae in 2004 I regularly have nerve-based episodes where it goes into one). The GP said it might be naturally low. It might, or it might have been the nerve damage depleting it. That's the trouble with not taking a holistic approach to our bodiesSave £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

@Suffolk_lass yes some of the added stuff / preservatives are not good for some of us - I sometimes feel terrible after eating potatoes or chips shop bought or in a restaurant however never from my dads home grown organic potatoes -
I bake my own gf bread no issues
but my dad is an incredible baker (not gf) so Annoyingly I know it’s wheat as well I have issues with so I am v disciplined on thatPlus I have a dairy sensitivity- I get a rash on my neck and can’t breathe well with the mucus plus start coughing like a serious smoker .. however I do allow that one to sneak in on occasion (love cheese and butter ) but it’s mostly not worth the consequences but they disappear after about a week so
trying to gird myself up to be LA PLAN - some big things I need to tackle and win so determined that is happening today to tackle my to do list and forward planningDON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)

I am impressed with your clear choices vs wants LWAP I think it helps in manifesting exactly what you want. When DP and I got together we were in a rush to get away from the house I was living in (I owned with my Ex H ) and I wasn't in a good head space with two divorces going on at the same time...I didn't even think about what I wanted we chose what was available houses were flying off rightmove as quick as they were going on after covid (out of the city, in a very small town with small minded people was all that was left in our price range) I regretted it from the first day we moved in. This is why having only just done it up I was getting it valued and looking and thinking and meditating on "what do I want". I viewed probably 20+ houses and stuck firm to what I wanted- somewhere with lots of light (like you), somewhere with a bay window (always wanted one and love the style house that usually comes with it), close to the posh part of the city (cathedral and castle in walking distance), AFFORDABLE
so we're not in the uber poshest part, but we basically bought the worst house up this end of the street at a price we can comfortably afford (we even put on our vision board - mortgage per month sub £700) and with house insurance included it comes to around £670.
Pinterest was my friend and I built an online vision board if you like, as well as a physical one that sat prominently where we could see it daily. DP & I wrote gratitudes out every single day for weeks after meditating and speaking to one another like we'd already found our dream house. We sold after one viewing and the first house we viewed......it's the one we boughtwe carried on looking though and everything paled in comparison, so really we could have been done a lot quicker than we were.
Sorry to hear about MWAP but I think when you get to a certain age you do start to think...... I am not wasting my time on anything that is less than perfect for me. I certainly did with my Ex. And DP did the same with his ex...sometimes timing is not right and sometimes there just isn't enough there for longevity.
Just a thought on the house buying.......how much is the market moving there % wise. Would it not be better just to buy somewhere asap, somewhere that you know will sell in a heartbeat again, but meaning you're paying down the mortgage and earning equity as well. I made a mistake buying my last two houses, I didn't like either of them. However my initial deposit was £17k in 2016. 8 years on, it is £120k. I didn't like either house, neither were long term homes I kinda knew that, but I wanted my money to grow steady enough and I didn't want to waste money on rent. Perhaps South London could be the key for the next 5 years? Look for places on the up- places that are being heavily invested in. Then as soon as the works is all done, sell up and move back to North London, I think you will make more money doing that then having it sitting in savings? Sorry long message but I was catching up on weeks worthI'll be off now

Quite a story re your flat buying! Tx for extra help in the vision board stuff. I am clearer on what I want but now will print out some visuals - afordability is important too
The gratitude you mention is always important - gratitude for where we are now and also for getting the next place - we are taught in SGI Buddhism is chanting to have gratitude for total victory in the thing we want even if we cant see it yet (as our life state reflects the environment and vica versa) yet so interesting to see where The Secret has pulled from a religion/philosphy that started 900 bc
I had not though linked that gratitude and total victory with my new 'dream home' though - I had not even thought that term to be honest. (I am v grateful for where I live now) so tx for the reminder to have gratitude for the wonderful new fabulous affordable London light-filled 2 bed, private garden, period features, high ceiling, nr a central London tube, room to extend dream home I am buying and will live indebtfreewannabe321 said:

I am actually looking at a couple flats in the further north area of London Saturday in the area I am thinking can really work for me. I was planning to look in S london, book in to see some flats anyway but will put that on my list for this month as I think you are right. I am not so keen on these London bridge south trains though, they run late or get cancelled and stop early. However I am only out late maybe once a week past 1 so a cab could be budgeted for.
Also the price point I am buying at in London is quite low (450-475) ! I do wonder though where house prices on the next tier up will go now they are adding vat to private schools and what knock on effect that will have. So i feel I have time - I am definitely thinking buying and completing by next summer though
For v rich people it will not matter but a lot of private schools are attended by people wanting their kids to have a better education and willing to struggle to afford that in their budget and so I think it will hit spending in certain areas. I have friends in London and outside who are panicking on this extra 20% cost if their budget is already tight.
A friend was told last year by an EA that the housing market sales on the £1-2 million range has really been struggling as the debt repayments on that are huge with higher rates,
FROG EATEN AND WON!
I have just had a paperwork challenge and won - I had overlooked signing an online form and had not seen the reminders due to being away..and my busy-ness so lack of details so I have to take responsibility for that. I have been chanting to have total victory there as well as the wisdom/courage/energy to take the right action (face the issue, file the piece of paper and call someone who I trust who knows loads) and had an email this morning to say its all fine and solved. Woo.. but I did chant for the gratitude for the situation, where I had overlooked an important piece of paper so it can transform my behaviour, make me see where I messed up and make me not do that again including putting measures in place - YNAB allows you to put scheduled transactions in as well as repeating annual dd's so you dont forget plus a monthly target if you so choose, so I have added it.
FROGS - I am daily writing down 3 frogs a day - small, med, big and taking action daily as even if I only have time for the small frog (or a single leg of the big one) -
Note this is frogs as in tasks I dont want to do or keep putting off. I actually have tried frogs legs and yes they are tasty mainly due to the butter, lemon, garlic sauce so not had them in years as I also find them quite cute so dont feel I need to eat them.
SLOW CARB NUTRITION - loving this - on second week and feel great, leaner and happy, always feel well-eaten (no weighing/counting/measuring etc - the pulses seem to fill you up so much you dont feel hungry then dont snack etc)
I am also trying to eat down my freezer so pulled out and about to roast a YS pork crackling joint in the halogen as will provide me with food for some days, plus black beans fried in spices with peas and My ever present kale, with courgetters. Need to buy more tinned pulses as they are far easier on the stomach than the dried
PREMIUM BONDS £50 WIN
Pleased with this - now won £225 this year on them on a £16k plus amount) so under the curve here again. However it is tax free. According to MSE PB calculator on my amount I should win £600 with average luck over the year so 3 more draws so fingers crossed.
VINTED sale cash - waiting for my second sale £40 cash to come through today - I am sending it straight off with other sold items money to a regular account so as to not get consumed by household spending earmarked for house deposit - I need to get all TillyTidy on my savings/cashback/not spent income - as deposit as opposed to an OP

Ooh, good PB win! And well done on tackling the frog - I like the idea of writing down 3 frogs in a day and making sure to take some action.
Well done on the eating too. I need to get a grip there - this evening I've had a halloumi wrap (not bad) swiftly followed by a twix and an ice cream 🙄 Completely unnecessary! In my defence I only slept 5.5 hours, worked 5.5 hours without a break and then spent 2 hours driving Mr Cheery to a gig which doesn't start for another 2 hours (and I've been here well over an hour already) and will have to drive another 2 hours home when it finishes at 11, so I'm giving myself a break for tonight at least! 🙄😂3 -
