gig was great @savingholmes and 14 piece bands are expensive so unusual to see nowadays
my local pub has reopened after a few years of losing its license and being completely redone - they have done such a good job - full of light, looks high end but not crazy drinks prices - plus a terrace so popped there at the weekend - may check out the food as well
I have spent 3 years walking past so good it’s finally open again
I feel
its the calm before the storm on work stuff currently - still waiting to get paid as well which is now driving me mad
I need to pop out to get some food - so annoying my Lifl is now closed - I am getting bored of cooking and expensive local sm ..DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... Good luck with the invoices and finding new prompt paying clients.
Enjoy the new pub. Nice to have one local that looks good.

@savingholmes we in a 3 week break for sewing classes as teacher away
Annoyingly I will miss some classes as my travel plans will kick in in 3 weeks time
I have brought my sewing machine home from my parents at least but it’s in the study of doom
my other classes are finishing next week and won’t start til September- a bit sad but doing 2 days a week was quite full on so and I like to keep busy in January learning new things whilst it’s cold outside but the summer it’s more fun to be out and about
I was out yesterday catching up with some friends and saw an ex from a couple years ago - despite me telling him I was dating someone he kept touching my arm or shoulder - I understand it’s both a flirting thing and a power thing - but I found it a bit annoying and it felt wrong . I had also forgotten how socially he has to always take centre stage, loud, likes to tell big tales which is fine but he hates interruptions no matter how funny. I can hold a room as well but don’t feel the need to always run the space and I do listen and chat vs his monologue-ing, Also
every compliment he showered on me (there were loads) were also followed by either ‘Aren’t you going to say something nice about me now’ or ‘where’s my thank you ‘
it made me appreciate MWAP even more as he is just as intelligent but we have proper interesting chats and he is always Uber respectful - I may not actually mention re the ex to him as pointless for him to be concerned about an ex that only highlights him in a better light
Groceries £158.74 - budget blown plus HellFresh £24.88
Spending on groceries is very high at present - largely as had MWAP here a lot and I have been cooking for us. I prefer to be at mine not his which exacerbates that
this does not include the wine for home - only £18
I had a 50% Hellfresh disct code which I have been putting off using but I have now got that delivered tomorrow as I am bored of the shopping and felt like not thinking re food
Even though it’s food for 2 people it’s definitely not enough if I am cooking for MWAP so will need to get extra veg inc kale in and a starter etcDrinks out /entertaining is £139 so far and we still got 11 days of April to go !Plus I have some big travel bills to pay - I have been promised some cash as soon as business gets some more money in. However I have had to drain my YNAB savings pots - as had no serious payment since Feb and I moved money to add to EOY SIPP
Saturday is always a fun day - planning to go to the gym, swim do some sports trading with my new software and see the chap later today - we might go on a hike somewhereDON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)

Forgot to mention I got an excited call yesterday that I had won runner up prize of a 20kg bag of rice ! Worth about £40 I thinkMain prize was fabulous but it’s white rice and I prefer brown for taste and health so I may get it delivered instead to my parents as a gift
i haven’t been doing much comping as so busy soDON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)

Congratulations on the win. The MWAP sounds a great fit to your life and I agree I wouldn't mention the ex because it was fairly obvious from your description just why he is an ex!Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!4 -
Well done on the win.
Good MWAP compares so well against the Ex. Also suggests you've grown as a person to attract someone better.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
