Have you checked your credit files from all 3 CRAs (credit reference agencies)? There's no obligation for Sky to report to all (or any) of them, but I'd check anyway just in case you find there is a nasty surprise on one of your files.

Otherwise, the debt has 6 years to be enforced - unless Sky have specifically told you in writing that they've written off the debt then they can come back at some point and chase you for it. From what has been said though, it sounds like the debt has been sold and you might find a debt collection agency starts hassling you at some point down the line. Keep an eye out for any letters, and make sure to let Sky know if/when you move house over the next 6 years so any correspondence gets sent to the correct address. Failing to update your address is not an acceptable defense and you will automatically lose if it ever goes to court since you won't know about it and won't have an opportunity to defend yourself.

Yep checked all 3, they don’t show it at all, I’ve also contacted sky and they seem to think there isn’t a balance either.. very odd.

Then it's definitely been sold.  Customer Services won't have the level of access to see that it's been sold on.

Expect letters and phone calls from whichever DCA bought it to start flooding in soon.

What's been over 18 months?  Since you "got into trouble" with Sky?

No, that was around 3 years ago, the last time I had any contact with them was 18+ months ago.

    Then it'll have been sold.

Companies typically chase debts internally for a period (months to a few years) and then flog them to a DCA if they don't get anywhere.

It doesn't make any difference, They're free to flush their own money down the toilet not chasing debts if they want.

It will have been sold to a DCA, and they certainly won't leave you be.
