My partner and myself had booked a holiday to Mauritius in December 2019. Thinking that this virus would have run it's course.

But it has not and now Covid certification is required both on the flight and destination.

We are both not comfortable with having the jabs, how do we stand on getting a refund?
Do you mean December 2020 as the pandemic had hardly started in December 2019 ?

Secondly did you book with British Airways ?
  • It depends on your T&Cs - but if there is specific rules for unvaccinated people that make the holiday untenable then this is on you, not on them.

Life will become awfully restricted over the next few months for those who’ve done too much Facebook homework!
  • So does the vaccine stop you getting Covid?

No, but it lets you go on holiday to Mauritius.
  • Mmm no answer, does the vaccine stop to spreading Covid?

You have (another) misconception that the aim of the vaccine is to prevent spread.

Seemed like a pretty clear answer to me ("no"), but for someone who didn't want to discuss the vaccine, you seem very keen to discuss it all of a sudden!  As this is a travel board, it's not the right place for yet another debate about the medical or public health aspects of the vaccine, but it should be abundantly clear that those who choose not to be vaccinated should expect this to impact on their experience if then wishing to travel, and, to return to your original question, if you feel that the introduction of Covid-related checks somehow grants you additional refund rights if you choose not to comply then best think again....

It does not stop the spread 100%, it does however significantly reduce the risk of catching the virus, significant disease and of passing on the virus to other people. Also a foreign country can introduce whatever entry rules they wish to, if they require you to dance the macarena on arrival they can do. Mauritius requires proof of full vaccination or quarantine, the choice is yours.
  • Why do many folk talk about "the" vaccine. There are several and they all have different characteristics and resistances against the different strains.
